Legit question though, how long of a scale length bass do you need to achieve these ridiculously low tunings?

@ good question. Meshuggah manages to get a nice bass tone for their lower tunings. Dingwall make 37 inch scale basses. Some basses are 39-40 inches. Just because the guitar tuning is low, doesn’t mean the bass needs to match that particular octave to sound good either.
