That "T" and stop end is causing a "dead leg" that can grow Legionella.

6mm twe is fine for a 45a range cooker. No socket on the switch though. Only circuit you can use diversity calc on. Front it up with a 40a rcbo, sorted !!
@uplightuk8924Ай бұрын
Only if it’s clipped direct. If not then it shouldn’t be on anything higher than a 32A. The amount of sparks who stick 6mm on a 40A on ref A is extremely worrying!

Oh dear! Oh dear! 💩 happens! 😀 Good thing you know where stop valve were and have emergency plumbing kit in the van. I hope plumber will repair that part with straight coupling as that plastic end cap will eventually fail (and I don't trust that 💩) 👍😀

I would double up those 6 mils and not think twice about it. Just a ring circuit with a fat ol' socket.

House from Hell a few years ago, plumbers left a hole i floor and covered with a loose bit of wood, having a pis and nearly fell in hole with leg. Spare corner unit in kitchen needed screwing to wall went through a mains water pipe, running up the side of a window, refitting a cover from cooker hood to ceiling kitchen fitter hadnt done, drilled a gas pipe,gas leak and major panic from PM who said no pipes there, Another house, hole in g/f with the stop tap in, Project manager decided to fill it with all the crap from kitchen floor, and then aleak, couldnt turn off water because stop tap was covered in crap, so water everywhere, as he had turned off wrong stop tap, TOP TIP ALWAYS KNOW WHERE PIPES ARE AND WHERE STOP TAPS ARE,

When I was 17 I worked for my dad as a labourer and on one job I was tasked with locating the water main, inside the property you could see some of the pipe so I was looking for black,when I dug down I found it my dad asked me to get a hacksaw and cut it. Well there was a plumber on site who overheard and said he’d do it, he started cutting and then hit steel wires, it was the f’ing electric main. Would I have known to stop like he did, I’m not sure. Dug a foot deeper and found the water after that

11:25 best way i've found to keep sockets where they should be with those blocks behind is to use the sticky expanding foam from Screwfix. Put the stuff behind where the socket is going, push socket in place, wait 10 mins for foam to expand a bit, push socket back to where you want it and it generally stays in place after that. The stuff sets hard af, from there, just drill and plug a screw to hold the box in place permanently. Job done. also, usually carry some of the silicon 'Rescue Tape' in the van for those lovely situations where one occasionally puts a hole in a water pipe. Carry on 🙂
