Hope they sell it to Pittsburgh so we can restore our Zeiss Projector

I was just there this pass Saturday with my family to see Carolina Skyies. I was sad to see it was gone, it was one of the first questions I asked "Where is the projector?"

@@acbulgin2 ~ Hi! YES! Absolutely amazing when they did this trick. There was many cool illusions with this projector. l lived in Vancouver BC and our Planetarium called it ''Harold''. l really _don't_ want it, its just an exiting piece of tech. l'd like a documentary to tell me a little about how it worked though. Have a lovely day. :)

Regrettable. A great loss to Morehead. It should have been kept on display as an educational tool AND antique value someday. Just ludicrous and devastating. tsk tsk on Chapel Hill. P.S. Not to mention that it was an engineering masterpiece! Really silly to throw away.

Wait until the electronics go bad in the new one, they'll wish they had kept the reliable Zeiss Projector, especially when the proprietary electronic board and stuff becomes obsolete in a couple of years like everything else and they have to replace it.

How sad. Surely they could have combined a ancillary digital system with the mechanical optical star projector.
