While you're surprised about technology in Naruto, it's worth remembering in case you forgot that they have electricity, and Sasuke even had a tv and video game system in his room as a kid, so not only was there basic industrial support way back in part 1, but even circuit boards and such to make nintendos. Also, don't forget things like compact wireless radios were standard hardware for ninja teams, like Team Gai using them in early part 2.

I think the reason why the Sharingan can't fully see through the Hidden Mist Jutsu is because it's not natural mist. It's chakra dense mist that flood in meaning it is basically a cloud of Zabuza's chakra flooding the area so even if you pick up his chakra he can blend in with the chakra fog that is around. The Sharingan would just see a muddle of blue or whatever and maybe catch quick glimpses of a most concentrated spot when Zabuza gets close.

God, I so wish Zabuza had survived. Imagine he and Haku survived so he went to find the seven swordsman to bring back the hidden mist that was good, and he finds Kisame who challenges him to a duel, Zabuza loses, and he is forced to join the Akatsuki like Deidara. However because he couldn’t care less about the Akatsuki and hates Kisame, he would be dispatched with Kisame to attack Naruto and Killer B, but before Kisame attacks himself with sharks, Zabuza just murders him and is like “hey, I don’t like the Akatsuki, let me join you guys” and now he has both the executioner blade and Samehada, and Zabuza and Haku fight with the Shinobi alliance against Madara and in the end, he becomes the leader of the next generation of the seven swordsmen of the mist after the war, ushering in a new era of the swordsmen based around the ideas of Naruto and his friends of never abandoning a comrade, teamwork, and never giving up. That would have been the best timeline
