I lost it when it came to Houndoom. I have a story about how I came to associate Houndoom with mysterious darkness and how it's Pokédex entry implies that it's powers are not normal even among Pokémon standards. It's based off of a Doberman Pinscher and a Hell Hound and possibly Cerberus but the pain it inflicts from its burns that last forever is something that not even most forms if Mythology have said would take powers most Deities don't have. I had totally forgotten about how when I first started playing Pokémon when I was 11 I always thought that the skull charm on it's neck looked like the face of a little Grey. And I would always be reminded if that one Scooby Doo movie on a VHS We got from a library sale that got my little sister obsessed about the series up until around she started Highschool. The Female Journalist and Labrador Retriever ended up being an aliens I always thought that the canid (I forget her name) looked like an eerily silver fluid Houndoom. I think we actually still that movie packed away somewhere but we've gone almost 10 years without a VCR. I should really try to watch the Mystery Inc. "reboot" because I actually remember hearing someone at school say that the reason they named a Mega Houndoom they had Skullby-doo was because he said something about that show referencing that movie and heavily implying Scooby was an alien. I had completely forgotten about that story until now. So thanks for reminding of that part of my childhood.☺️🐶
