Great tour of the Haven! Just so others know, the Haven sundeck is for ages 16 & up. (Not 18) I know it’s not much of a difference, but it was for my 17 year old 😊

We're doing the Encore through Alaska in July... Did you feel like having a Haven suite that wasn't in the Courtyard detracted from the experience? We'll have our little ones with it and our room isn't in the Courtyard either... Hoping it won't matter too much but we just finished two weeks in the YC and it's so nice being in a single space.

We have done both within and not in the Haven proper. We didn't feel being outside detracted from the experience and honestly by the time the kiddos want to go to sleep you are ready to head to your room and relax as well. Having the dedicated bedroom in the forward facing definitely made up for not being in Haven proper. Plus it tends to be a bit cheaper.

I wonder why nobody uses the Haven pool. It looks great! I could see how it might feel like you're on display. Maybe that discourages people?

It does look great! We almost did it several times and then got distracted at the bar or with something else. Some people used it but definitely not a lot on our trip. I definitely could see how you might feel on display. People do walk through it on their way to the lounge, and the halls to rooms look onto it.

Honestly we didn’t feel much of a difference. We have sailed both mid and forward on this style ship in Alaska and found it to be very similar.

Are the drinks free at the haven bar?

The drinks in the Haven are included in your fare up to $15/drink. You can upgrade to get top shelf liquor as that is not included.

How did you find the movement of the ship being at the very front?

Honestly it didn’t seem any more rocky then the rest on the boat! I think it actually felt a little less. And on the 12th floor we didn’t hear any noise from the engines or other floors.

There is accessibility to all locations via a Haven elevator located in the Haven lobby. Emma & Jack

Great video! We are going to be in the same room tomorrow, just curious how do you get from this room to the Haven area , my understanding is it is not near the Haven pool.

We just took the stairs or the elevator up. It takes less than 5 min to get there and with the room being the front of the ship you don’t get any traffic walking by so super private. @@lindsayslivealittle we had a fantastic time! The weather was good overall even though this time of year can be dicey for Alaska. The ship was amazing and the Haven accommodations were wonderful. Would certainly recommend this room and this trip to others. I think I ate about 300 cake pops from the haven lounge area - they are addicting! It has been a while since we have cruised (2013 on the NCL breakaway) and I have to say this ship and experience was really impressive. The food all around felt like a step up from what we remember from years ago.

Beautiful review! Unfortunately I have a bit of motivation sickness issue and prefer midship. Did you feel alot of motivation bring forward of the ship?

On our Alaska cruise, if it was rough waters it was felt throughout the ship. We didn’t feel that our location was any different than the rest of the ship and it was definitely helpful to have 2 lines of sight (with windows) vs the standard view out of the balcony. @@kv1930 one option to keep in mind is calling directly. From what we have heard you can sometimes upgrade directly with NCL agents if you are within 4-8 weeks before the cruise for less than the upgrade bid.
