What I’m struggling with is when I read a question, I don’t necessarily add TO IT, but I think of what COULD happen and base my selection on that which always ends up being wrong. For example, instead of selecting NPO (correct answer) for a patient with diverticulitis who is vomiting, I’ll select give IV fluids because I anticipate they could develop electrolyte imbalances and/or dehydration/hypovolemia.

I have this exact same problem. I would choose that answer too. The thing that I can only think of is to know exactly what the book says about that specific disease
