highlights are second generation. first their name was BEAST. when they became BEAST there were six members. but two left, and four members are left now. You should discovering them, I would really appreciate that. their very popular songs are FICTION, SHADOW, etc. thank you.

Favorite is a gorgeous song. The chorus is ELITE! I absolutely agree with you that NCT is announcing that they are GROWN MEN now. Jisung became an adult and that seemed to be the green light for all the units to mature (127 started with NeoZone and have completed with Sticker). I LOVE all your references to 2000s RnB that this is SO reminiscent of! Knowing this is Darkchild produced makes so much sense. I agree about the dance break and I'm glad it's just for the MV and performances because it's jarring AF. The 3 new songs on the repackage are all good (Pilot is THE ONE! for me of the 3). SM has really been in their creative bag with these 2021 title tracks. Really enjoyed this!

For the vampire theme, I think it's genius to have that and it's necessary for this context: If you look closer to the details of the MV including the lyrics, you'll realize it revolves around a tragic romance. And what would be a perfect character for a tragic romance? It's having a vampire lover lol. He loves her and she is his favorite (🎵girl you're my favorite🎵). But he is conflicted. A feeling that's obvious in the MV. Plus it's already Halloween. On the marketing side, that's what SELLS 😂

Totally agree. They got the perfect time of year for this concept, & when people search "vampire" it's one of the first results you see. really clever imo plus for a lot of fans the vampire aesthetic is really sexy lol

Im kinda glad they avoided most of the kpop vampire concept cliches. At first I thought the sets were kinda random and not cohesive until I realized that it wasn't the typical Vampire concept. After a few watches, I was getting vampire manga/fanfic vibes. And the obvious Twilight inspiration also plays into that.

8 months and came back after watching them perform favorite in Blibli, Man that song is amazing and the choreo tho, the way they expressed themselves is touching, but that second chorus tho!!! Mark ATE it, he did and Haechan too tho!!! Now I can't wait for their comeback!!

Micah - I know DarkChild (Destiny's Child, Brandy, Spice Girls, etc) that's my era. i agree with everything you said: Johnny's hair, Haechan's dancing, Jaehyun the harmonies, footwork, NCT we're grown men-full of stars "look at me", styling, Jungwoo's dancing is so smooth (was digging him in Sticker when he came through as a center), questionable vampire theme, THIS IS DELICIOUS - Yezz!!! The dance break seems to be out of place but it's another reason to watch their superior choreo. I love how knowledgeable you are about the producers I really appreciate learning those tidbits. My take on the MV was that our boys are not themselves the vampires, but are in love (or dreaming of being in love) with a “vampire” (metaphorical for star-crossed lovers/forbidden love in general). Taeyong has fangs because he’s already turned. Jaehyun has been bitten and will soon turn, as well. So it’s a question of how much you’re willing to suffer to be in a romance with someone you believe to be your immortal soulmate. It’s romantic, heart wrenching, sensual, and creepy all at the same time. So it’s like Twilight, but with better eye shadow and dancing lol. 💜

I thinkthe vampire theme is onpoint omg!! It matches so well withthe tragic love story going on and with the music. It was very nicely done, so beautiful and not cringey at all. It makes the song a whole lot sadder and more tragic idk

In both the dance practice and on their live stages they've been doing a dance prologue first (which is really lovely) and I think it makes the dance break mid-song fit more. But generally speaking, I will never complain getting more choreo from NCT :D

When i first saw that this was a Vampire concept i was like why SM but then they release on there instagram a Story of favorite. NCT as a hole have a dream in a dream concept like inception and a simulated World like matrix. They have special roles in there universe. They can be any caracter when they are dreaming. Thats why they where Cowboys in sticker because in Matrix hackers called CyberCowboys. And they al dreaming this time too and are Vampires.

This is a mood 🥰 btw the contect for vampire concept was actually stated before the cb thru a mini drama kinda. Basically they are vampire so they shouldn’t fall in love because their lover is mortal. Thats why this is a tragic love song.

Actually the vampire theme make sense with the lyrics, at least for me. They want the girl to bite them so they can be forever with her "even if it hurts like hell". The bite hurts, she hurts them too, but she is their favorite person and want to be with her no matter what. Maybe the scene where they are sleeping and Taeyong suddenly sits down, its because she bit them all and they are turning into vampires??

I think Vampire theme was an important factor for this concept because they always lose their true love because of them being immortal also they feel bad and miss that person.....this songs is a true bop but an emotional rollercoaster and say things about true love!!!

Absolutely LOVED this song!!! I’ve listened to it so many times in the last 48 hours that it shows up in my dreams! FIRE!!! I love the vampire concept… perfect for Halloween around the corner, makes since Twlight concept. How his lover is the vampire, and their saying your the devil, but I need you like a drug… Turn me into a vampire. I agree the butterfly seems like the medium The dancing and the melody to this song is TOP notch, I’m waiting for the day I play this song out enough it becomes my ringtone!
