They were 18 members that time. as an aspiring music producer in the future, nct songs or sm artists songs in general really inspired me to be better interms of composing and producing music because their songs are really insane.. the production value is insane like they really knew what they are doing and why they're doing it. Yes they use a combination of the “robotic arm camera” as well as hand held camera in their shots. And yes, this is more to showcase their total 18 (at the time, 23 today) members’ beastly dance moves, which is why it was labeled Performance Video as opposed to MV. I will look forward to the Dance Practice and/or the live stage of BLACK ON BLACK. Just a heads up when you get to the CHERRY BOMB reaction you may also want to check out the Dance Practice since they have the iconic moves (just like many of their other songs that has become viral and dance-covered within kpop world and in social media) which was not shown in the MV. Similarly, when you get to the FIRE TRUCK reaction, please note they also have the “performance video” version where you will be able to appreciate their iconic dance moves which is not shown in the MV (and if at all possible, please give advanced warning so a fan can explain the concept behind the MV since I noticed the storyline tends to confuse many who sees it first time).

2018 - they released Black on Black, which is basically like an intro dance track when they were 18 members 2020 - They released RESONANCE (you should react to it too! ) as the dance track with 23 members. This was awesome! This was for the NCT 2018 project album Empathy (which is amazing and y'all should definitely check out all the tracks from). At the time, they only had 18 members, so there's 18 members in this one, but they currently have 23 members and added some since then! In Resonance for NCT 2020, all 23 members are there! And you're totally correct about it being a dance song! It's more to show off their amazing dance skills and the sheer number of them than focus on the song itself. There are also behind the scenes videos you can watch that show the robot arm they use (you're right about that too) and just getting ot know them as people. They truly are great and funny guys too. I also HIGHLY reccomend watching the dance practice of this and any other dances y'all really like. I can't wait to see more!

Yes, the level of talent in NCT is insane. But when you really think about it, think of the level of telent SM Entertainment has as a whole. That is why SM commands the top spot and why it's one of the big 3 entertainment companies in Korea and around the world. We wouldn't expect anything less than top talent. And just think, there are dozens of more trainees, just waiting to debut. SM cultivates talent. And that is why the company has become known as a powerhouse for vocals and dancing skills. All of its artist are super multi-talented. You know someone must be extra special if they are part of SM. You can't even debut as an SM artist without having superior vocals and/or dance skills, that's just the criteria for being an SM artist. :D SM Entertaiment is the founder of everything we know of as Kpop today and they have some of the most legendary and talented groups. SM's talent is really never ending. Which is even more mind blowing when you think of everyone who is under SM, such as Super Junior who had 15 members, Girls Generation had 9 members, EXO had 12 members, plus all the company's smaller groups -- TVXQ, SHINee, F(x), Red Velvet, TraxX, BoA, SuperM, etc. and all of these groups are known for having some of the best singers, dancers and performers. NCT-2018 was a special project created by SM Entertainment in 2018 because, at the time, there were 18 members in NCT and SM thought it was a cool contrast that the number of members reflects the year. (Kun -- the leader of WayV -- debuted as a member of NCT-2018 and he was the one that was added to the group to make them equal 18 members.) So they created this performance for "Black on Black" to highlight NCT. NCT is a very international group. The members as a whole currently represent 9 different countries and they speak 8 different languages. For example, there are 10 native Korean members (Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung and Jungwoo, and SungChan), Mark is Korean-Canadian, Johnny is Korean-American, Yuta and Shotaro are Japanese, Ten is Thai, Lucas is Chinese-Thai from Hong Kong, YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, YangYang, Hendery and Xiaojun are not in this performance because they had not debuted until 2019 and SungChan and Shotaro didn't debut until 2020. There are 13 members who aren't even from Korea and 11 of them have no Korean heritage. This is a special performance MV so it is designed to highlight the group's dance skills, it's not really about the song. This performance just highlights another aspect of what makes NCT so talented. If I remember correctly, they actually debuted this performance as a special live stage showcase, before the MV was released, or maybe in tandem with the MV. So they can do all this live, too. Taeyong is the leader of NCT, so no matter what sub-unit you are talking about, he is the leader of everyone.Yes, Taeyong has a prominent role in almost everything they do. Plus, he is one of NCT's best dancers, he is a main rapper and he is a songwriter and producer. These days, Taeyong and Mark pretty much write all their own parts in NCT's songs. They are both gaining a reputation for being really good at turning a phrase when it comes to lyrics. Because Taeyong is so multi-talented SM features him a lot in its projects, either within NCT or even outside of the group. Some even say that Taeyong and Mark are SM's favorite NCT members because they get the most parts in every project. But Taeyong stands out because he has that leader quality that makes the leader of Kpop groups different then the other members. Leaders are just born to be leaders, and Taeyong is a good example of that. Fun fact: If you notice, when Mark first appears in the beginning, when he jumps over Taeyong, etc., he says, " ... NCT we the dream team ..." And the group that is dancing with him in front during that part are some of the members of NCT-Dream. :D Plus, NCT's whole group concept is all centered around dreams and dreaming, so they as a whole are the team that is all about dreams. Mark is the only member that debuted as an original member of NCT-U, NCT-127 and NCT-Dream and SuperM. And the blond guy in the center in the middle of the dance break section -- the one with the skills at popping -- was Jisung. Jisung is the maknae (youngest) of the whole NCT group and he is one of their best dancers. He debuted with NCT-Dream when he was only 14 and he is known for potentially becoming Taemin's carbon copy. (Taemin is a member of SHINee and SuperM, who is also a solo artist and he is considered one of the top two BEST dancers in the entire industry, SHINee is seniors to NCT, also under SM Entertainment.) Jisung and Taemin are very similar. They both took similar paths as trainees with SM (both became trainees when they were around 11 years old), they both gave up their childhood to chase their dream as a dancer and performer and they have similar dance styles and personalities, etc. Jisung idolizes Taemin and Taemin says he sees his younger self in Jisung. Lucas was the rapper in the middle of the performance who told us to "freeze!!!", who was kneeling in front during the part where they were standing on each other. Ten is THE Soloist in NCT. He has the most solo projects of any of the members because he is their best/most skilled main dancer and he has beautiful vocals, so SM has given Ten a lot of solo songs and projects over the years. Ten is Thai and he is also a member of NCT-U ("The 7th Sense" and "Baby Don't Stop"), WayV and SuperM. Notice how the majority of the members who were the centers of this performance are also members of SuperM -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten and Lucas. And that is why SM chose them to be a part of that group, because they are the members of NCT who are some of the most talented, most popular and the ones that have that undefinable "it" factor. SuperM is the Kpop industry's very first supergroup which is made up of members from all of SM's most popular groups, which includes EXO, SHINee, NCT and WayV. NCT is a group with an infinite number of members and an ever growing number of sub-units. It has been said that SM has an unknown number trainees who are waiting in the wings to someday debut as members of NCT. Right now, SM's plan is to make NCT the group that never ends and never stops growing and expanding until they have a sub-unit representing every major city in every country in the world. NCT was created to help SM accomplish its plan of world music industry domination. ;P

They work bloody hard from they childhood, no less then ballerinas. They spend most of they time in dance practicing room. So, no product for looking so fit. Just intense workout. The main reason for me loving them is their choreo. Hard, powerful and eye catching.

Until this week they had a channel called NCT DAILY in which they'd posted behind the scenes, uncut videos, shooting of the actual recording day of the song, variety shows, reactions of their own videos. There is a LOT of behind the scenes. The channel was discontinued but their company announced that they are going to use the channel "NCT" from now on and the individual channels of each unit. As you can see there are really great dancers in NCT, Ten, for example, the one who had the solo in this video, is considered one of the best dancers in the whole industry, he also choreographs and had participated in a dance TV show in Korea (Hit The Stage) 2 months after their debut. Ten can dance to almost any style and he grew up dancing and learning all that is possible: a bit of ballet, gymnastics, hip hop, popping, house, Waacking etc, he also is friends with a lot of famous choreographers in Korea. Taeyong, Jisung and Mark are other 3 phenomenal dancers in the group. Because of that, they had a channel called NCT DANCE (it will also be discontinued) in which they'd post freestyle choreo, choreography made by them and most of the dance practice of their choreography. Actually, in kpop they use the name "dance practice video" but it is actually a video to see the full choreography, they aren't practising as learning or counting beats, it is like the final version of the choreography; videos of they really practising can be found in the NCT DAILY channel. NCT DAILY - Funny content, behind the scenes, reactions, uncut videos NCT DANCE - Dance practice (final shoot of the full choreograph), freestyle dance, choreography by them or they're covering some choreographies In Korea they have a lot of entertainment/variety shows on TV and KZbin. They tend to do a lot of challenges, role play as it was a comedy show or a sitcom. The groups, in general, do that a lot in their own channel. So NCT has videos in which they cook (or try to), do talk shows, interview each other, answer to questions of the fans, try a day working in another job, unboz of their albums, shoot vlogs of their tours or travels to another country, roleplay as secret agents in order to win a prize and more.

For guides which help you to learn names and background of each member I highly recommend the ones by softjun like "subpar guide to NCT 127", "subpar guide to NCT Dream take 2"(make sure it is take 2 bc it is updated) and "subpar guide to WayV" there is no guide to nct u bc it is technically all members and each song has different members in it. Also for the 2 new members I recommend the guide by cherryverse to sungchan and shotaro :)) If you want to see their personalities more I recommend videos by Bananamilk, cherryverse, yoonohmii, sunny Renjun, and more a specific video I would recommend is "nct moments that shouldn't be real" by yoonohmii or "just girly things but its nct part 2" by yoonohmii hope this helps :))

In Feb 2018, the first three NCT subunits came together as a mega group called NCT 2018 with all 18 members and now SM has added two new members making a comeback as NCT2020 which their first comeback since their “Black on Black”. In 2020 it was stanblished that TEN is nct's main dancer. He tends to have dance solos like in this video. When all of them were asked, they said the best dancer is also him so there's no question on that point tho many fans oppose of course Here you can clearly see why he has a solo dance break. At the time NCT 2018 was made up of members of NCT 127, NCT U, and NCT DREAM. So in this performance there is only 18 present since that was the only members who used the brand name of NCT. There is a new comeback named NCT 2020 where still NCT 127, NCT U, and NCT DREAM are joined together but since 2018 a new subunit has debuted. Under the name WayV the first chinese subunit outside of Korea but debuted with the Chinese version of Regular which is originally by NCT 127. WayV has 7 members and for the NCT 2020 the added 2 new members to be under the brand NCT, Their names Shotaro born in 2000, and Sungchan born in 2001. Making the comeback NCT 2020 with 23 members in total. But in the performance for NCT 2020 RESONANCE Jisung (DREAM member) the youngest member was absent due to a knee injury.

2018 Nct as a whole were still 18, this is a song with all 18 of them now in 2021 NCT as a whole are 23 members and they dropped a MV with all 23 of em its called "RESONANCE" and the song for that MV is a "mix" of some of the tracks of the resonance pt.2 album

Also the one red hair is the leader of the whole of NCT so he’s center a lot especially in 127 he also has a solo song called long flight and helps with a lot of the writing and creative ideas in choreo or some direction in their videos.. I’ve heard him pointed out as a favorite in superhuman and regular, but he changes hairstyles ALOT so I just thought it mention this since he’s my bias as well... he’s in SuperM too also..

FYI: the joint songs (like this one and resonance) are mainly meant for performance, that's why they're dance heavy, they perform them at Award shows and such, "to impress" if you want to put it simply. Also because fans have been begging for content of all 23 members together, and the company finally listened to us, we got heaps of funny content and great music with the NCT 2020 project

Yes, they are using robotic arm cameras. They used those cameras in other MVs too, plus normal handheld cameras with the big heavy stabiliser thing (dunno the technical term). There are Black On Black behind the scenes videos 1-3, you can see the robotic arm cameras and others being used.

Many have pointed it out before but yes, this song is all about live stage performance. It was actually performed by a smaller group of them way back in 2016 as part of a dance medley. If you want to get the full effect, it's really great to see this as a live stage. This one totally blew me away at the end of 2018- kzbin.info/www/bejne/bH_YaqKVm7Fjgsk It's a medley (kinda like they did at the end of 2020) to showcase various songs from their 2018 project, Empathy album, with all current units participating. There are lots of big music shows at the end of every year on TV in Korea (along with all the big award shows each winter) and all the groups put together big impressive stages. Yeah I think they used a camera robot, nowadays more and more Kpop videos use it. The coolest use of it that I have seen recently is in Stray kid's "God's menu" (another group that you should check out if you like rap-influenced songs) and Kai's "Mmmh" (he is a solo artist from the same entertainment company as NCT, and part of another group called EXO). Also in many other videos but I think you already have too many suggestions haha.

I legit binge watch all the new videos and comment on the last one. 😂 Black on Black (ot18) will forever be iconic, wait until you see Resonance(ot23). The dreamies deserve some love too, I recommend NCT Dream: Boom & Ridin. If you guys dig deeper into NCT, I recommend watching their live performances too. (Specially the ones from the concerts, production for Kpop concerts are as insane as music videos). There are a lot of guides for the members too, they might be all cool on stage but they are really crackheads/dorks. 😂 Their duality is no joke. (Its easier to learn the members per fixed unit: Dream, 127 & WayV. That's what I did, took me less than a month. 💚) You don't need to do this, but it would be awesome if you guys do an album listen of Resonance pt 2(it has a total of 21 songs, but you are already familiar with 5 of them, ps. 'Misfit' is longer on the album), their b-sides deserve all the love. 💚 Lastly thank you for reacting to my boys, NCT/WayV is a hard to digest group, alot of people dont really give them a chance due to the fact that they are a huge group with unlimited members, they keep growing, heck we're even getting a new NCT unit this year, that means probably new members. Also their music tends to be hard to digest for a lot of people too, since they're always trying a new sound, while keeping their Neo concept. (you can always tell when its an NCT/WayV song tbh) and a lot of people dont like it at first but their songs age like fine wine. So yeah! The fact that you guys started with NCT and love them is amazing, if you are able to digest this group, the rest of kpop will be a breeze. Another group I recommend is Seventeen (songs: Home;Run, Left & Right, HIT.)
