NCT U is actually not a fixed unit. Members can change anytime. The members from NCT U are from the three fixed units which are NCT 127, NCT Dream and WayV. Members will be picked from those three based on how suitable they are for the song/concept. NCT U is like a collaboration of the three fixed units which I think the reason why it means NCT United. (correct me if i’m wrong)

NCT U is a rotational group, which means that any of the 23 members can be in it, whether it is 2 or 7, it doesn't matter. Take the song Baby don't stop for example, it was only Taeyong and Ten who did that.

Normally I don't comment on your videos, but I just had to say that the dinosaur edit on Andy brought me the life I didn't know I needed this evening! 😂 The reaction you had to this song is a lot like mine - so many memories with the dance moves, the boom bap beat, the New Jack Swing harmonics, and even the East Coast (Busta Rhymes) throwback. I think we appreciate this on a whole different level. Oh, and the song that they hinted to at the end was another NCT U song called "Work It". NCT 127 - fixed unit and the members are - Taeyong - Taeil - Johnny (from chicago) - jungwoo -doyoung -jaehyun -yuta (japanese) - Mark ( canadian) -Haechan -winwin (tho he is not active on nct 127 , he is active on wayv now but there's no announcement that he will no longer be part of nct127) NCT DREAM - another fixed unit. first they are the youngest member of NCT since they start at age of 14-16 ave age but the new member are same of their age so.. - MARK AND HAECHAN are part of nct dream too and the other members are - Jaemin -Jeno -jisung -Renjun (chinese) -Chenle (chinese) Wayv - fixed unit. they promote or they are based in china so most of them are chinese. - Ten ( thai ) - kun (chinese) - yangyang (germanian , taiwanese) - hendery (chinese) -xiaojun (chinese) - Lucas (from hongkong but he is half chinese and half thai) - winwin (chinese) the two new member (2020) still doesn't have a fixed unit Shotaro is a japanese Sungchan is a korean. hope this helps :)))

- NCT U consists of any members who fit the songs concept. It is a rotational unit. - NCT 127 is a fixed unit. Consists of 9/10 members, Win Win was part of 127 unit until WayV debuted, he's still (?) part of it but he is inactive with this unit since he debuted with WayV. So the members they have right now are Taeyong, Mark, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Taeil, Yuta, Haechan, Jungwoo, and Johnny. - NCT Dream WAS considered as a rotational unit as well as it contained for younger members, teenagers under 18. Once the member reached 18, they had to graduate like how Mark graduated from NCT Dream in 2018, but then on 2020, SM decided to terminate that rule and set them as a fixed unit as well, which Mark is now back with Dream members again. Now the members are now consists of 7 members, Mark, Haechan, Ren Jun, Chenle, Jaemin, Jeno, and Jisung. There are 2 Chinese members in this group, which I think you can guess by their names, right? - WayV consists of 7 members, Kun, Win Win, Ten, Lucas, Hendery, Xiao Jun, and Yang Yang. They are the Chinese members unit, except for Ten, but he has a Chinese descent in his family, so he's picked to be with this unit too. As for now, there are two members that will be inactive with WayV and NCT activities due to some issue. Hopefully, their cases will be fixed soon. Oh, those two members are Win Win and Lucas. 3 units from NCT debuted in 2016, which are NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream, going by this chronological line. WayV debuted in late 2020. Two new members debuted with NCT U in 2021, which are Sungchan (you see him in here) and Shotaro.

I feel like there are different levels to being a KPop Multi; that it's almost like being at a University. You start out freshman year with whatever group draws you in and you deep dive into that (BigBang for me). You may not even keep that first group as your Ultimate Major (it's my minor now because they haven't released music in such a long time) but it's what brings you to the school. Then Sophomore Year, you learn the history of KPop (and if you're me, learn about the history of S. Korea and how the economic crisis and student revolution really pushed KPop into the "Hallyu Wave" it became). You start learning about other groups at your chosen label (iKON, 2NE1, WINNER, AKMU, BlackPink, Epik High). You get sucked into all-nighters studying (binging) reality shows about all the new groups you love. Junior Year, you start hearing about this crazy level of KPop that includes a group with 23 rotational members. Some people are brave enough to jump right into that but I had older students warning me to leave that until later, after all, that's at a whole new school, NCT U. Then maybe if you like theater/movies, you start watching KDramas and then KFilms and taking classes (or DuoLingo) studying Hangul. And while you are walking around campus you see a person of the sex you are attracted to and they are the most talented person you've ever seen and you want to spend every moment with them. They may be in the same major you are (T.O.P) or maybe not (Donghun) but all you can think about is seeing them again. Senior Year, if you haven't decided your ultimate/major, you best get on that. My major was unavailable as the teachers/Kings of Kpop were all in the military, so I focused on what was available and where I could do the most good: Appreciation of A.C.E, or How I Became Obsessed with The Most Underrated Group in Kpop. By this time, I had studied or fallen for so many groups in Kpop that I knew when I graduated Multi-Fan U, I would be ready for my Master Degree Plan, matriculating at NCT U. And I have. I can name all 23 members (2 more this year?!) and have biases within each group, each subgroup and I've even seen every JCC ep!! So welcome, the best Orientation is watching one of the many guides on NCT U. My first semester was devoted to WayV and since TEN is in so many of the groups/sub-groups he can be a great guide as well. "The fastest guide of NCT 2020!" - is exactly that, a quick guide or "THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO NCT 127’S MEMBERS" has a great video game style to it that I know Andy will love. Good Luck, I know you two can earn your Master's Degree at NCT U!! ps. I really really missed writing you guys long essays! LOL

With 23 members, and yes I'm saying 23. Oh with the possibility of it going upwards to 30 or 31 soon. They are holding auditions for a new unit called NCT Hollywood. But with 4 secure sub units it can get confusing. Let's start with the easiest: NCT 127 NCT127: the 127 means the longitude of Seoul, and they want to spread their music out from there. It's a fixed unit with 9 members. NCT DREAM; also a fixed unit with 7 members. All are the youngest members of the group. It used to be a graduation system when each member hit 21 I believe. But when they ended up with only two members left and no one to replace the others they decided to bring back the 5 the left to make them a while unit again. Their concept started out cutsey...thank God they grew up... Next is WayV; You already know this group but this one is also fixed with 7 members. All members are of China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and right now my mind has the hiccups, I believe there is one or two more countries represented in the group. The last group is NCT U, the U stands for United...with this unit they rotate according to what members they need, what kind of sound they are looking for and who fits the best. For this song along with "Make A Wish", "Work It," "From Home," "Misfit." These were all broken up into smaller groups, but they also did one with all 23 members called "Resonance." I believe 127 have the most released songs, but NCTU has some bangers as well like the 7th Sense, BOSS, and my personal favorite, which BTW uses the same beat as BOSS, and its called Baby Don't Stop. And this song only has two members. I apologize for such a long post, but I hope that this info will help you understand the set up of NCT and why it works so well...I didn't give a list of the members cause then this post would have been double in length...
