AAAAAAAA YESS!! i was so happy when they first announced the winter album, but then they said the title track was going to be their remake of h.o.t's candy!? GOT EVEN MORE HAPPIER I ALMOST BAWLED 🤣 bc i've been hearing this song since I was like 3?! one of the first kpop songs i could remember that reminds me of childhood, and now being remade by the artists i spent teen years with 😭☝️ THE CONCEPT FITS THEM SO WELL?! This has got to be the best reaction video to NCT DREAM’s Candy 🥺 I feel that those who have listened to HOT’s Candy and loved the group back then would definitely be able to appreciate this modern rendition by NCT DREAM. Kenzie really did such a wonderful job at rearranging this song to make it sound more modern, and NCT DREAM is just the most suitable group to be doing this remake. NCT DREAM’s youthful vibes and talents really did this song justice. I couldn’t stop smiling while watching the MV! Cuteness overload 😍 I totally appreciate how you guys were vibing to the song and genuinely enjoying it 🥺 It’s exciting to watch you point out the things you like about this MV/song. Hopefully SM does more remake again soon! I still regularly listen to aespa’s Dream Comes True even until now because that remake is just so good

I'm just so glad to see your reaction because it's basically exactly how I reacted while watching this Candy video. The Dreamies did an excellent job with this remake, hitting the perfect balance of updating the song to make it their own as well as honoring just how iconic Candy is. I love, love, love how they kept all the original lyrics, most of the original choreography, and most of the outfits as well. I'm not Korean like you guys, but in the late 90s and early 00s, a Korean family lived next door to us and I befriended their daughter who was my age. She was a huge H.O.T fan while I was a Backstreet Boys fan. We bonded over our mutual preteen love for boybands. Her relatives in Seoul would send her VHS tapes of music shows and she'd show me H.O.T's performances. So yes, I feel all the nostalgia watching this Candy now. :)

What I love about candy dream version is the chorus…in original hot, the chorus which is the killing part is a solo part right?Tony’s part. But in this, all dreamies sang it. i mean, NCT Dream have the BEST group harmonization. It always gave nostalgic vibe- listen to My Youth, On the way..so in this song, when all of them sang the chorus, maybe that’s what gave it a nostalgic and 90s vibe…..

Thank you so much for speaking about this.. Some people really act like 3rd generation are the only generation that struggled or are the creators of kpop.. They always forget to give 1st and 2nd generation their flowers.. I understand 3rd generation inspired the new kpop sound very much.. But if it wasn't for the first two generations even 3rd generation wouldn't have happened.. I really loved how they served this song in a new flavour but kept the old signature.. 7dream never disappoint

I am soooo happy that you reacted to this. While there are a lot of KPOP reactors, there are not that many who knew the original song and had a connection to the original. It is MUCH more satisfying watching people who actually knew the original and also knew the history behind the original song. But guys do you know, many kids in korea know NCT Dream is the original singer of this song? I watch amazing saturday when layone there, and he said, many kids didn't know H.O.T is the original singer of this song, like even I'm not 90's kids i am 01's kids, but i know Candy bcs of H.O.T, but well NCT Dream really did well remake this song and keep the original choreography and that moon hee jun thing, i love it, hope other agency follow SM step bcs, there are so many songs that are really good from GOD, H.O.T, Koyote, SHINHWA or they can remake the song from the 2nd gen too

I love ur reaction videos and i keep searching for ur channel (and not just click the recommended videos).. plz do more reaction videos for nct (every unit) contents.. And abt the song, i knew it existed but didnt really watch or listen to it cuz i started being a kpop stan in 2017 and i'm indian (kpop became a thing in india recently), but when dream announced the winter album I did check the original and immediately knew that this song was perfect for Dream.. SM vocal techniques or vocals in general is so unique that only sm artists can cover another sm artist's song flawlessly.. This was a perfect year end gift for nctzen and h.o.t fans (i hope)...

I didn’t really get into Kpop until the 3rd Gen, but I remember this back in 1996 if you can believe. I remember thinking the song was a bop, but the styling was so cringe. Well they weren’t idols. They were more of a rap group. They did however influence h.o.t. But h.o.t was the first group to be introduced as idols. Even k tv shows will say “Wonjo idol” which means original idol.
