"The 7th Sense" is...ICONIC. Truly a fantastic debut for NCT and launching point for them. One of, if not THEE best debut of the most recent generations imo. Rookie groups and trainees cover this often and they're all valiant efforts, but rarely stick the landing quite as well. This choreo is HARD. And this song is why we call these 5 members the Founding Fathers of NCT. They're the same 5 that were in "Baggy Jeans", the first time those 5 had been in an NCT U title track in 7 years, so it was a very special occasion. Mark's "long ass ride" is also iconic. NCTzens use it in memes all the time lol And its insane how clear his talent and skill was at just 16 years old. After "The 7th Sense" (like a couple days or maybe a week later) there was actually another NCT U release called "Wtihout You". Amazing song! It and the members are sometimes included on the topic of "NCT's debut". The members were Taeil, Doyoung and Jaehyun. Kun from WayV also joined for the Chinese ver of the song.

It's just a vibe, I think it perfectly encapsulates the experimental themes of NCT. The next NCT U song was pop rock haha. Famously difficult to dance to this song, trainees dread it, may look simple but the irregular beat and movements make it challenging to pull off without looking like a mess

The day after this was released, a follow up release called "Without You" came out. That showcases the vocals of NCT with Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Taeil; there is an MV for it as well. A Chinese version was also released with Kun on vocals even though Kun did not officially for another 2 years.

Debuting rookies usually bring cute and fresh MV but NCT showed up in 2016 looking quirky cool and chic even though they're also still smol. This formation of members came back dancing to Baggy Jeans in 2023, much brighter but still quirky. I love them ^^

Despite the absence of green, it honestly doesn’t get anymore Neo than this. The perfect dream-like vibe to introduce us to NCTs multi-layered dream concept. Baby Mark’s “That’s a Long-Ass Ride” prophecy keeps finding its fulfillment; it HAS been and continues to be a Long-Ass Ride 😂💚 P.s This MV precedes Chewing Gum. Mark was 16 here and 17 there which is hilarious to think about 😂

The members here-Taeyong,Ten,Doyoung,Jaehyun nd Mark are called the Founding Founders of NCT becuz this started NCT.Also its one of the best debuts of all time + a lot of trainees r actually afraid to perform this song cuz of the intensity. also the 7th sense unit had a comeback with Baggy Jeans in 2023

In NCT-U's "The 7th Sense," what you are seeing, as part of NCT's dream concept, is supposed to be the use of the 7th sense. Humans have 5 physical senses -- sight, touch, hearing, taste and smell. The 6th sense would be the ability to perceive or sense something that isn't there, like, for example, in the movie "The Sixth Sense" where the boy could sense ghosts. So, in this MV, SM Entertainment used the "7th sense" to describe where NCT's dream state comes from. The 7th sense transcends the physical world and it deals with the dream realm. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics, you will see how they are all talking about dreaming, so each of the scenes within the MV is a different part of the dream or each of their individual dreams. (It's really worth looking up the lyrics to help understand NCT's concept and this song better.) Yep, "The 7th Sense" came out April 4, 2016, and it is NCT-U's debut. As you saw, in this song and MV, there are 5 members who debuted as the first installment of NCT-U -- Taeyong, Mark, Ten, Jaehyun and Doyoung. (The same members as in NCT-U's "Baggy Jeans" song and MV.) This was a really important MV because it was the public's first introduction to NCT and it was NCT's first debut out of all of their sub-units. Ten is the one in red in the room with the plants -- he is NCT's Thai member and he is also a member of WayV, NCT's Chinese sub-unit -- he is a main dancer, lead vocalist and a sub-rapper. Mark is the main rapper in the pink tiled room, he is also known for his dancing -- he is Korean-Canadian. Taeyong is the blond who is the leader of all of NCT -- he is a main rapper and main dancer. And Jaehyun -- the one you see with the blue and green lights highlighting him -- and Doyoung -- the one with the orange hair -- are two of NCT's main vocalists. Elements of this MV are also now thought to be connected to Taeyong's, Ten's and Mark's SuperM debut teaser videos. A lot of their scenes in "The 7th Sense" MV are very similar to the setting of each of their SuperM teasers. Fun fact: About 3 months after NCT-U debuted, in July 2016, Taeyong, Mark and Jaehyun debuted again as original members of NCT-127 with the song "Fire Truck" -- along with new members Taeil, Yuta, WinWin and Haechan. And then about a month later, in August 2016, Mark debuted yet again, for the third time, as part of NCT-Dream -- the only NCT member to debut in all 3 original groups -- along with Haechan, and new members Jeno, Jaemin, RenJun, Chenle and Jisung. With their song "Chewing Gum." And yes, Mark was 16/17 during all of these debuts, and yet he radiates a completely different energy with each group. His versatility and ability to take on any concept or style is one of the reasons why SM has chosen him to be involved in so many different projects from day one. I’m just gonna echo every else here. This was certainly one of the most unique debut singles I’ve ever seen/heard. The talent and charisma jump off the screen, and Mark was something special from pretty much the beginning. He may have been born in Toronto, but he spent part of his childhood in Queens, NY, and I believe that you can still hear it in his accent. The choreo is also insane: I can’t imagine people learning it for fun. 😂

The best Kpop debut... Period. The levels of perfection in this video, it is Organic. Every member is reliant upon their own skills in vocals/rap/choreography, there's no where to hide and no preservatives (ie. cars, women, set designs). When a label can boldly showcase their artists as is, showcase the work they've put into them it's untouchable. The swagga... they rode the beat, even the imperfections are perfection. Raw. To be one with the music and convey the vibe to an audience isn't easy and they are the standard that I use to rate debut artists now. Soon as the beat hit I wanted to light up... they made this mello smoove with intent even though the demo is pure sex. The Neo is in the sound waves. Great reaction guys. *NCT snatched #1 Debut, still got SHINee and 2PM on the list.

Thank you for reacting. Actually, y'all did two NCT unit debuts before this besides DJJ. You also did NCT Wish. Think about it when they actually debuted in 2016. NCT 7th Sense really shook everyone back then & helped change K-pop to what it is now. Till this day it's probably still my favorite k-pop debut because it started a whole new genre in k-pop that it's my favorite now.

The 7th Sense truly was ahead of its time and i personally think this is possibly no. this IS the best debut song ever it truly was just a very daring song to have as a debut and the music itself is insane, and the lyricism is crazy like NCT U debuted first. First NCT song I heard and I was so blown away by it that it took me a week to get over it. It's the red light and Taeyongs swag/presence/charisma. Taeyong is the coolest person in Kpop when performing. Or maybe Bobby is ?
