This is literally exactly what I was looking for. I didn't know the F-stop clarity issue, now I know why so much of my recent footage I shot looks blurry!!!

Hello again Hugh. Very informative. Thank You. Why don't you think the gel filter strip will work?
@hughhou5 ай бұрын
It create artifacts if not cut correctly. I just don’t want to take the risk as it will mess up stitching and 3D that’s impossible to fix it in post.
@slodays11585 ай бұрын
@@hughhouI can understand. Thank you. I ordered the filter you recommended. 😊

Thank you! I've found the process of cutting the gelatin filters and keeping them free of finger prints and scratches to be a difficult task, and I was hoping you might recommend a superior alternative. These look great. Thanks again for the great information and sharing your knowledge!

Thank you for these great tip and incredibly useful information! Just couple of questions regarding R5C : 1. What is the base ISO setting when you say ISO800 in the video? 2. With Base ISO 3200, would ideal ISO is also 3200?. Many thanks.
@hughhou5 ай бұрын
base ISO is 800 and 3200 - you set it based on lighting requirement.

Should I set the aperture to 5.6 for indoor videos as well? In my experience, setting it that high for indoors can introduce more noise in the footage.

I use the Kase clip- in ND and night filters in my R5. But in daylight ISO100 around f5.6 1/25s 8K25p only. ISO 400 or 800 I must denoise the shadows for VR watching.

Thanks for the tips. Kase is a Chinese brand right? Filter I find the Chinese brand skim in quality. But Kolari is pretty pricy. I don't see any noise added on the Canon on the Kolari

@@hughhou I only have a warm tone effect against the sun with Kase ND08, like something is slightly polarized, like sunglasses. ND32 is very good and was sufficient for ISO100 1/25s in the summer. I will test ND64 in snow in the next few weeks. The color deviations are particularly noticeable in the snow. The noise is not related to the Kase filter. I am testing ISO100 against ISO400 and ISO800 in daylight to find out an advantage of/for C-Log, c-Log3. But ISO100 is better there. I wanted to switch to ISO800 C-Log 3 with ND64 in daylight but has a lot more noise.

Can I please ask if you experienced any ghosting or reflection issues, which is common with front lens filters with light at certain angles ?

Thanks for making this dude, so surprised at how little support this lens gets from Canon. I want to maximise this lens but don't know how to make it work commercially, any tips?

Lots of it on my channel. What stop you use it commercially. I use it all the time.

Is this the filter for the RF mount on their website? I see it only says compatible with R5 and the R5C is not listed. Just want to make sure before I purchase. Thanks
@hughhou2 жыл бұрын
Not matter your lens mount as it’s go into your sensor! So why use camera model instead. What Canon you have?

I Bought the KASE Clip-In ND's and saw that they do not work with the Canon dual fisheye lens unfortunately :( Have you tried those ones and did you see the same issue?
@hughhou Жыл бұрын
No, I have not tried KASE. But this works and it work great.
@JR_04 Жыл бұрын
@@hughhou well, no need to try. They don’t work with the dual lens. I think the back element hits the Clip In ND. I couldn’t get the lens to mount. Is there a Kolari ND kit you recommend? Also… what have you been doing for the Red Raptor setup with this lens and NDs for that?

using nd filters with this lens is just such a pain though. What worked great for me is to just reduce the shutter angle, at 60fps you can get away with a lot. As long as nothing moves quickly close to you it will work out great. For water espcially keep the shutter angle larger. Think of it like in games without motion blur, it still looks fluid even though they would be at what is the lowest shutter angle possible.
