👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 from personal experience, a kind anesthesia Dr makes unplanned surgery so much better. I will never forget the him suctioning me (in the best way lol). Patients are so vulnerable and that connection is critical. Best wishes for your residency

i 100% agree, the amount of patient care relationship building you get out of anesthesia is up to the individual. but choosing to be there for your patient, even if it is in those few minutes prior to surgery could make a world of difference so why not do it :)

Congrats!!! New Haven & Yale is a wonderful place, don't know if you've been there in person yet but you'll be blown away. Not sure if you know this but pizza is a big deal there, many people claim that New Haven invented it. They have their own style, with some odd toppings... But it's great. My favorite place is Sally's, super close to campus. And NYC is only 2 hours away on the train for more awesome experiences and more great pizza! Enjoy it, you've helped so many people through this channel and will be a great anesthesiologist!

Congrats! Wasn't the waiting so hard!? I was shaking the whole time between the beginning of my ceremony to the time of opening the envelope. Even so much so that I was shaking from excitement up until the next day. And being in the mstp, I can definitely sympathize with the tears of how much of a culmination this event feels like. Congratulations, my son matched to anesthesia residency at ubc on March 19/ 2024 . I was crying when I got the message from him . And he said he was on the moon at that moment . Only 6 of them matched to anesthesiology department this year including him.
