My favorite non-educational fishing channel BY FAR! This guy got me back into fishing after 15+ year hiatus. Been angling since I was 3-4 years old and just stopped when I graduated school. Now I'm 36 and fishing in local competitions and learning from a few of my local pros like Trey McKinney(Bassmaster AOY and he's my neighbor). Also have my own bigmouth bass and bluegill stocked pond that's about 20 years old now. Cheers brotha'!

That hookup around 7:00 min mark reminds me of one trip as I was at the end of a retrieve, just as I lifted it off the water, a huge pike launched straight out of the inky depths and into the boat like a missile, landing on my open tackle tray, and proceeding to thrash my lures everywhere including overboard (lucky all floaters/top waters) before I got the situation under control. Lol. No hook set, no net, just straight into the boat and full on mayhem. To this day, I'm convinced it was part of a plan to try and prevent me from catching him and all his buddies.....

beware the double triple hooks!! True story, just this week, strapped this bait on, crushed on the first cast, fish managed to get hooked in the mouth, and the tail (with the rear hooks). After dragging him in, got the tail hook out first. (mistake) after 2 seconds of the bass flopping around like a maniac, the fish is off, and I have one of the treble hooks embedded in the back of my right thumb, just behind the nail bed. Deep enough that the barb is buried!!! In my 55 years, never have I caught a hook until now. Panic, blood, band-aids, disinfectant, and everything I could muster to rip that out soon followed. I am now gun-shy of the plopper :(

I actually had that exact same thing happen on this trip! I had a third big pike about the size of that last one, but I left it out of the video because of the amount of blood. It was hooked in an awkward spot, thrashed, and buried one of those Plopper 110 hooks right behind my left thumbnail well past the barb. Luckily I always bring a side cutters when pike and muskie fishing so I clipped the split ring to detach from the fish before it went nuts, then yanked it out with my pliers. It was rough, I could feel it rip through my nail under the skin and now I have a hole in the nail where it’s growing in lol. It didn’t hurt until the adrenaline wore off, in the moment I just want that hook out of me.

That smaller pike that hit right in front of you before flopping out of your hands right away made me think of numerous aggressive 2+ pound chain pickerel I've caught. Not only will they slam the lure right as I'm taking it out of the water, but they can do a lot of shaking while trying to hold onto them.
