North East 24 hour race. Camera got water inside and broke so was only able to get the first lap of footage unfortunately.
I was on a team in the 4 man sportsman class. Hardest race I've ever done for sure. I ended up getting hurt on my night ride around midnight so the rest of the 3 guys had to finish out til 10AM without me.
Pretty insane experience. The heat was in the mid 90s also which didn't make things any easier.

Woooooo! Was so excited to see a new video. You're crazy! So fast chasing that guy. I'm not gonna lie, I saw the title "24 hour race" and was hoping for 24 hours of footage. :) I hope this is part one of like 47. LOL In all seriousness, if you've got more footage I'd definitely be interested in watching, especially some of the night riding. Great job man, especially on a slick tire.

im super bummed my GoPro shit the bed. I was prepared with 4 extra batteries and everything to make it last all night. somehow got water in it and it fried it. the night portion was very interesting. I def slowed down at night. my lights were plenty bright but there's something about not being able to read too far up ahead that slows you down. we got 7th in our class and 69th overall out of 233 teams.

John Bragdon you are one badass for doing that haha props to you! I dunno about my tire but I was losing traction real bad in the rear. Mid day it felt a lot better as everything dried. But when night hit again ground got moist and I started slipping, my front M59 had two huge gashes in it on this first set of 3 laps. Broke a throttle cable on my second go. Rough day haha

I thought I warned you about the 505, must have been on another channel....absolutely doesn't hook here in damp Ohio woods , scary AF on grass....lol good ride . The 525 extreme compound is pretty sweet, tubliss2 6 to 8 psi . Looks like a good time. P.s. I have a 505 with at least 3/4 tread on it if someone wants to buy it , going cheap !

thanks Brian yeah 11 hours each way for me. I actually ended up getting 2 big slashes on my front tire at some point on lap 2. got back to pits after 3 laps and swapped my front wheel. I ended up leaving the shinko 505 on all race it did well on my second time out bc the course dried out so much but then once night fell the humidity and dew made it slop up again. hell of an experience. im dead.

I race for twenty five years till my body wore out you'll get it but keep in mind your front brake used properly will make life a lot easier but great job for only 2 years of racing. try to keep you last 2 fingers on the brake lever at all times and tap it when your in a turn or just trying to stop takes some practice but you'll see how it helps big time .

I tried one on my 2019 300 TPI and didn't like it. But I only gave it one chance and took it off. on this bike I actually really do like it at or near its lowest setting. its not really noticeable but my bike does feel more stable at speed. if you turn it up it reallllllly changes the steering feel almost like you're fighting the bars sometimes. some people like that feeling though.

Let me just say by yall even entering a 24 hour race yalls mamas got to be asking if somewhere in yalls family tree yall have a brother and sister marriage thing going on. I guess you started the race for the group? How did yall decide what order to run? If any questions I ask sounds like a busy body just ignore. Oh man that run at the beginning is why you wont see me doing one of these, yea thats the only reason. Buddy I was pondering if you were going to try and maintain that pace the whole race. Suck it up buttercup I didnt feel a thing. Getting pass is something that takes great skills and I have mastered that skill. Hey now I was just getting into a rhythm and the video ended? I paid good money to watch this geez. I guess Summer wasnt boyfriend hunting this weekend. My wife told me to tell you its FORD not F$&k. Hope you was able to change batteries and caught a little of each set. Hope yall had a good time and no one got hurt. Thanks for another great adventure. Stay safe

hahahaha! Yes I sure did start off for the team. I am not sure they kinda decided I would go first, Randall second Melvin 3rd and Joe 4th. it was such a long race that it really didnt make much difference I dont think who went when. im not a huge fan of those GP style starts either but I didn't do too shabby. I was trying to keep up, about halfway through that first lap I realized I was going to die by night time if I dont save some energy. and NO hahahah Summer wasn't at this race unfortunately :/ my gopro got water in it so unfortunately this is all the footage I have. Bummer. Hope you had a nice weekend I saw you upload a couple vids I think Ill check them out later tonight
@Tankerman
@Tankerman 5 жыл бұрын
Oh okay, I gave yall credit for actually thinking and planning. Like since you always have a stronge start you would start and the B rider would do the last section to try and make up any loss positions that Randall lost because he spent to much time hugging a tree ( that last part got me chuckling). Waiting on Melvin and Randall to upload their section but those two are slacking off again. Thanks dude but honestly dont worry about watching my videos unless you enjoy watching grass grow. Goldentyre Fatty's..Michelin Starcross for mud IMO. Play with pressures. And get a moisture meter.. then start recording the humidity, temp, moisture of soil to determine the right tires! Your a cyborg with the hole shots.
@SkinnySkinch
@SkinnySkinch 5 жыл бұрын
never tried the golden tire ill look into it. I did try a shinko fatty front tire once aren't they very similar?. this place would only have a few sections that star cross tire would shine in. all of the rocks and roots would be bad on it. a Kenda IBEX would have been ideal for everything but the super fast field sections. it would have been a one race tire but is what it is.
@404marc
@404marc 5 жыл бұрын
@@SkinnySkinch IMO set up for single track. The trees keep everything damp leaves, branches etc. all slick, you know. And from what ive seen i think your faster on the single track. Ive heard bad about fatty's up front but always had them on rear. These bikes were set up for Colorado...always dry. I liked the golden ran them on 500exc and wr450 rear. Not sure if there similar to the Kenda. For damp NorthEast I want a great big fat grippy tire. I run mousses on back and tubes up front.
@SkinnySkinch
@SkinnySkinch 5 жыл бұрын
404marc interesting I actually just ordered a set of mousses I was thinking running in the front 100% to eliminate flats but still running tubliss in rear. My thought was I can still ride on 0psi in rear, but losing pressure up front will drastically slow me down. I may just run mousse in both an call it a day. Never thought I’d be a mousse guy honestly bc I love the tubliss. I’ve just noticed as I’m getting quicker I’m starting to have failures and punctures. Not sure if it’s just a coincidence or not.
@404marc
@404marc 5 жыл бұрын
@@SkinnySkinch Ah could be rims for flats... who knows. I like having a real sticky front. One I could control for conditions and just "dealt' with the mousses rear. But you can drill out the mousses, kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGTMp6hno8d5iqM takes a couple tries, to get to your liking but once its on thats its it for a while...
