Racing the 30+ B class VCHSS. Last race of the season for this series. I missed the last 2 races due to work. Overall had a good time but didn't do very well. Finished 7th in my class and 64th overall. I wasn't able to push very hard most of the race bc of how soft I made my suspension. It was way too stiff at the last race so I went too far and now it's too soft. Will meet in the middle and see how that feels for the next one. The course was fast and pretty rough and choppy today.

Haha yesss I don’t like being overly aggressive with the rev bombing or anything especially for someone in my own class. I was thankful he let me by. I was def a little quicker in the woods than him at that moment. Was a fun race but man that bike/course beat me up. Had blisters underneath my calluses on my right hand.

Honored to have made a guest appearance at the 24.06 mark. Thanks for moving out of the way so quickly. You can hear me yell thank you as I ride by. That track was super rough. My arms were dead at the end of the race. Great video as always!

You weren’t on camera for long!! Lol. What class you in? 40B? Smoked me lol. But yeah if I can hear you behind me I’ll try to pull over ASAP doesn’t always work out like that but I’ll make an effort. I messed my suspension up and that course really beat me up. I gotta figure this ohlins setup out.

@@SkinnySkinch I ended up winning the 40B class. Although i definitely lost time on the mx track. I was really bad. Need to head out to a mx track and get some practice. The jumps are a lot bigger in person than on tv.

Hell yeah man nice work! If you passed me on lap 1 you were at least a couple minutes a lap faster than me. Yeah I think if I had rode saturday practice I might have hit a couple of the smaller doubles but those back tables id still roll haha just too worried about getting hurt on jumps for some reason. Never rode MX as a kid or anything so it's just so foreign to me. I KNOW I could hit the jumps and it would be so much smoother than jumping the first a little and landing flat then rolling over the landing but its just in my head.

I'm only 1:30 in and had to stop to say...great recovery from the late start. Threaded the needle beautifully there. Good to see you in a good place mentally and back posting these vids. You rock man!

Thanks a lot man appreciate that! Yeah I felt I did alright getting a few passes there early. No clue what happened on the start I think I mighta tried to take off a little early which stalled the bike. Or maybe it just didn’t start at all. I was nervous bc of Ricky and Tyler on each side of me so wanted to get a good start haha. Yeah man I’m glad to be back. I really let myself go there for a few years. Racing is just so good for you mentally and physically. I need to start taking it more serious again and working out a little in between races. I’m still around 210 lbs. was 165-170 when I was racing 3 years ago

@@SkinnySkinch Keep at it. Try and get some seat time at some moto tracks. You'd be surprised how well it'll carry over into your woods riding. I got into road biking about 7 years ago and thats a great way to stay on top of your cardio for race day. Mountain biking is another one but for whatever reason i've lost several riding buddies that traded the motor for pedals and never came back. Maybe the wives think it's safer...who knows. Either way keep staying positive and keep the videos coming. You rip brotha!

Hot diggity you boys were cooking through there! Great riding and great race. I really appreciate the commentary. It helps me understand how you faster guys tackle the trail and process the terrain. Cheers!

I’m only about 10 minutes in but the trail looks pretty rough. You’re handling it well. I’m with you on the MX stuff. Are you using an external mic on your camera?
@SkinnySkinch

Thanks! It got progressively worse as the day went on. No mic Donnie just mounted on my chest protector so it’s pretty close to my mouth. I run the hero 10 in a case with the open back piece for better audio. The waterproof back piece muffles the sound a lot.

As a older MX told me one time when he saw me rolling the jumps “the jumps wont get you its the landings “haha. He really didnt build my confidence. Man yall were smoking the tight stuff. I remember Tim, I think I offered to sabotage his bike for you a few times but you refused my help. Another great race. Stay safe

Mannn I’m about as scared as can be of those jumps Tank 😂. There’s no amount of pep talk that would make me jump them lol. Tim is a good dude. Very fast. I can’t keep up with him anymore he beat me by 6 or 7 minutes. I might take you up on that stick offer now 😂

Yeah! another great Skinny video! The fall colors were awesome! Tons of tight hand smashers in this one. Like you, I prefer to not be airborne... :)

Thanks Paddy! Had a good time but man that place beat me up. I’m still so far from being in good race shape. I need to do a lot over winter to get ready for next season.

Thanks! I was watching your wood stove install in your container video the other day thats a neat shop you have there. I am having major condensation issues in my container and everything in there is getting moldy. I need to get some ventilation in there somehow.

Awesome man it’s such a fun sport you’ll meet a lot of nice people too. My advice is to ride/race as much as you can. Endurance is a big factor in these races especially as you move up to the longer races. Carry speed through the corners that makes a huge difference. Get your elbows up and weight forward over the bars. Watch some KZbin videos there’s lots of guys giving free riding technique videos. If you can ride and race with people faster than you and watch them while following. You’ll learn a lot
