I love seeing this trend of male comedians having therapy with each other. It is cathartic since I grew up where men were told to keep their feelings to themselves and therapy was for p@ssies. This is nice to see, the raw honesty and shameless sharing between two men who chose comedy over tragedy.

It's such a relief when you get to talk to someone who comes from an adverse childhood and you can just be real about it without having to deal with the other person freaking out about the messed up things you went through. I see that in this interview.

@@setburhed4987 I don’t like any of those podcasts 😂 I only like the podcasts Bobby does as a guest because the other stuff is just too boring to me. But maybe when I was a kid I’d have liked them. Not saying this in a mean way, it’s just how it is for me. I know I’m the odd one out in this crowd. It’s fine haha This interview is definitely one of the better ones to me for sure. The way he grow up is so relatable too. My dad threw bricks at me and the last time he attacked me I pinned him against the wall and my moms screaming and then I just let him go and then he never came at me again. But the psychological stuff continued for ages. And I was desperate to die for most of my life. So I know the depth of those dark feelings and that is real pain. When you are living for years and years where you’ve accepted death and are desperate for that but have no way out reliably, it’s extremely painful. Anyway yea this podcast has lots of interesting stuff.

My theory for the tragedy porn is that it’s sometimes easier to feel sorrow through other people’s pain because you aren’t ready to feel it for yourself yet. Same with the positive videos. You can’t cry and feel the joy for yourself, but you can for others. It’s what you were already feeling, the video is just the excuse to feel it. Also, when we grow up in constant fear, it becomes our natural state. To the point where not being afraid is triggering. Something must be wrong because something’s not wrong. It’s too quiet.

I wish I could just sit with Bob, like a brother, and just talk. Maybe he will understand the reasons behind my depression. It's so sad that gems like him are so unapproachable & like celebs who we will never be able to connect with. But I love listening to his stories. He is fun, liberating & so very hilarious! Love you man!
