Well one of the criticisms of them after the Netflix doc is that they were using other people’s footage of their experiences, and had NO real experiences of their own to share on film. So maybe this is their solution. Hire 4 paps, stage a pursuit, blow it up into a major incident, demand that IPP status in the British courts… It’s horrendous. This pair are truly awful. So tired of it, Imho

Harry was FILMING CALMLY in the car. He was CAPTURING FOOTAGE,probably for Netflix.He had the blackedout security cars chasing them for content! Meanwhile , MM was SMILING in the taxi! Also, what are the chances that they were in a car chase at the same time there was a staker at their California mansion?As a New Yorker, this story is ridiculous.

I absolutely agree with you!! Every time the subject of his mother's death comes up related to something Harry is doing, it really just makes me sad and uncomfortable for Prince William. Harry was not the only one in that situation who lost his mother, and to me, it's just shameful to use the death of Diana for his own personal gain without any regard to his brother's own personal loss and grief!

The thing that's really shocked me is the number of Headlines in the US publishing their "near Catastrophic' narrative without question, despite the fact everyone knows the traffic in NY is so slow the 'Paps' (the she happens to have on speed dial - allegedly) could have followed them on foot. The thing that sickened me was the way they tried to set this up to look as much like Diana's fatal crash after a Paparazzi chase in Paris. They always find new depths to sink to don't they?

He not only reduced her to her death, but it is sad that, actually, people have been talking a lot more about her shortcomings in the recent years. I don't remember this being the case in the past. It seems to be in response to him painting her as a saint and constantly forcing the public to liken his wife to her. Very sad.

Diana was in Bosnia and Angola before that fateful summer. Her presence was felt and bringing attention to plight of land mine victims, especially children. Right now, I bet she would be involved with the Ukraine plight for refugees. I’m beginning to think that all this paparazzi talk from Harry is really deflecting from his Mother’s legacy because he and the Trollop would never, ever be able to even begin what Diana left. William and Catherine have taken up the mantle quietly, efficiently and get on with the job.

For those of us who lived through the Diana years, it is upsetting to see how Harry has reduced her legacy to his own personal issues. As you said, she had her faults but she was more than someone who died in a car crash. Harry only tells the chased by paparazzi part of the the story - and leaves out the drunk driver, no seatbelts, Diana had alerted the photographers, the speed the car was doing, and if Diana had kept her Royal security - she would never have been in that car, EVER. Like you said, it is upsetting to see how he has diminished her. Diana holding the hand of a young man dying of AIDS almost singularly changed the worlds' perception that you could catch AIDS through touch or being in the same room. Nobody has ever been able to express a story through photographs the way Diana could. What also raises my bile, is how that awful woman and her awful mother have latched on to Dianas' legacy through Harry. Meghan wants to be Diana 2.0. It is beyond sick. For years we have watched them both get away with every lie, every mistruth, every misdeed. She even lied in a court trial and got away with it. I fear, they will get away with this as well.

I grew up in NYC and have driven there...a lot!!! What they claim is impossible and it sounds like THEY were the problem on the NYC streets. Also, any competent security would have had them pose for a few photographs before they entered the limo to get rid of the paparazzi right there. That's what competent handlers do with celebrity appearances in NYC.

I heard that one of the photographers is claiming that Harry’s ppl called them and said they were going to a restaurant and they could get exclusive photos out front. So they were following them on a wild goose chase. Finally Harry’s car pulled into a garage and the photographers start approaching them to as what the hell is goin on and there was Harry filming them. Now Harry want to see their footage.

The NYPD have to be as angry about this as we are. This is the reputation of their city. I hope they're doing a vigorous investigation, piecing together CCTV and private business video footage with witness interviews. I can't wait for their conclusions.

What makes me feel that this whole thing was staged is the look on her face in the taxi - she looks like she's thoroughly enjoying herself! Doria looks as if she's sleeping and haz is filming the taxi's ceiling. I believe that they got out of the security car and into the taxi to attract more attention and drove around in the hope that the paps would follow them. I believe that they may have encountered paps outside the venue who may have followed for a few yards. There is no way on earth that there could have been a 2 hour car chase in NEW YORK of all places without the police getting involved! This whole thing stinks and has markels claw prints all over it. She has sunk herself - and I'm glad!!!

What doesn't make any sense to me is their security guards supposedly haling down a cab for them to enter. They supposedly had no idea who the cab driver was--a complete stranger. They supposedly excited a secure SUV with blacked out windows to enter a cab with see through windows. The cab driver's instructions was to drive them around the block so they could then get back into the SUV they previously excited. The cab afforded them the narrative that the paps were taking pictures of them--before and after when they were in the SUV there were no pictures---this does not make sense--unless it was a Netflix production

Backgrid put out a statement in which they say it had been arranged to take pictures at the venue and then take pictures at their dinner location. So, the photographers thought they were supposed to follow them. H&M came up with the story that they didn't want the paparazzi to know where they were staying. According2Taz reviews it on her You Tube channel.

Why switch from their 'safe' SUVs to a taxi with an unknown driver? If you are so scared, that seems like a ridiculous thing to do. Pictures show Doria on her phone, Meghan smiling, and Harry filming everything. I am sure he's getting footage for his case and/or a new Netflix series. He claims this was the first time he felt like his mum being chased, yet didn't they claim they needed security because this happens all the time...? He needs to get hold of his wife's and MIL's phone records to see just how often they call the paps themselves......

Note: CNN and MSNBC reported this incident AS FACT. This couple is backed by powerful political operatives. The reason why they are arrogant and rude with confidence because they have backing. The woman will be placed in a position of power and influence. She completely flopped with Spotify yet she is coming around for Season 2 with a hefty paycheck. She was involved with the UN and WEF. She was in England when The Queen died due to her involvement with UN backed One Young World. There is a reason why she is able to commit perjury, lie to the world with the R word claims AND claiming that British Reporters were calling Archie the N WORD WITHOUT PROVIDING PROOF!!! No one has researched and found proof of her claims. Yet, Oprah allowed that woman to say whatever she wanted. Why? Many paparazzi at the event.. A few broke away to pursue H & M even though photos had been obtained. Why bother to pursue? There's no chance for more photos when a vehicle has dark tinted windows, and H & M are not top tier celebrities. After the chase debacle, Backgrid (Meghan's dial-a-paparazzi company) released a press statement saying they sent some paps to the event and that they behaved in a safe manner. Hmmm. Obviously, the few that broke away and went into hot pursuit were from Backgrid and had been hired to pursue. One guess as to who hired them. Shameful publicity stunt. The duo is looking for attention and IPP status.

In their statement, the paps said there was an "expectation" of a post-award dinner, which means Meghan or her representative not only invited the paps to show up at the awards but also to standby for possible post-dinner photo engagement in some Manhattan resto. That's why the paps followed them.

I worked in central London, St James’s, at the time of Diana’s death. The atmosphere of sadness, sorrow and loss was palpable. The people felt the pain and the grief felt for Harry and William cut deep. The Harkles are abhorrent

It is highly rumoured on other sites that the ‘Paparazzi’ were called which is why they had their camera at the ready. The taxi driver was very much nothing happened and was laughing. He changed his view slightly as time has gone on. The wording the Markles used was dramatic, they implied it was Diane mark 2 which I found to be really sick.

Yes if Harry and his wife get protected person status (which is what he is after) then any country they are in has to pay for their protection - not just the UK. This is my understanding of the security issue with the Markles. They are sueing the government in Britain to get security coverage. It is only for Brirain. They are hoping that it will lead to IPP status. It won't. When Harry was at the Sandringham Summit, he was told they would no longer have IPP status. QEII put out a notice that the Markles were NO LONGER. working royals and DO NOT represent the Monarchy. That statement kiboshed any possibility of them getting IPP status. ONLY the UN can approve IPP status. The REQUIREMENT for IPP status is that they are, in their case, WORKING ROYALS identified and acknowledged by the British monarchy as representing the Monarchy. These 2 things are THE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT for getting IPP status. ONLY the UN can provide them with this status. NO COURT around the world can demand or order the UN to give them IPP status. The case in Britain has NO BEARING on them getting IPP status. It is only for Britain. One has nothing to do with the other. Now, because of their titles the security for the 2 idiots comes under the US Homeland security department. When HS is notified of a VALID possible threat, not just something the Markles make up, THEN HS will assign a security officer to them for protection, like they did on Meghans PR tour of NYC for, the duration of the treat that HS determines. Meghan has no control of HS security officers. She can not tell them what to do as she is not their boss. When they are done for the duration of the security threat, they make sure the Markles are safe and leave per THEIR protocol. HS validates these threats multiple ways, not just by what the Markles tell them. The threat assessment specific details are totally based on Intel information from around the world as well as domestically. So yes if there is a valid threat then the US does provide the Markles situational high level security and the US citizens pay for it, but only during the threat. These security officers are federal agents. The Federal government does this because they are British "royalty" and is a courtesy. They WILL NOT provide long term ongoing security for them. It is only situational. The decision by the British Court nor any court world wide can force, not even by court order, the UN to give ANYONE IPP status. They are their own entity and governing body and have their own criteria determined and agreed upon a long time ago amongst all the UN nations which they all agree to follow when they join the UN. Also, it is being said that they want IPP status to get out of any crimes they commit. It doesn't work that way. If a person with IPP status commits a crime they are reported to the UN and the head diplomats of their country. The UN requires the person perpetuating the crime to be removed and sent back to their country to be prosecuted for their crime in their own country. They are not allowed to return to their diplomatic position in the US. In Harry and Meghans case, IF they by some miracle git IPP status, Harry would have to go back to Britain for them to deal with him. If M were to commit a crime, she to would be sent back to Britain. Her being a US citizen would complicate which country she would be prosecuted in but under IPP stays she would go back to Britain and of course would fight it because she is a US citizen, so then she would be sent back to the US for prosecution, that part would be unclear as long as she is under the RF. However, since they do not have and CAN NOT get IPP status, both of them would be prosecuted by the US laws, unless Harry is on a diplomatic visa in which case he could possibly be sent back to Britain and leave Meghan here in the US to face the music here. The court case in Britain has NO bearing on them getting IPP status. They are 2 totally separate issues.
