@Pat Luxor don't be ignorant please do some research and study, OK? The reason is that the camera has a wide angle lens (you capture much more than you would with a standard lens.) which offers a much wider field of view. The consequence is that objects that are more towards the periphery look curved. When the edge of the globe is in the center of the frame, much less is captured.

How comes at 13,000 meters the air temp was minus 40 but then got warmer as the balloon got higher? Sweet video pal 👍🏻
@punishedexistence
@punishedexistence Жыл бұрын
The top of the troposphere is actually the coldest part for the air pressure. As you go into the stratosphere the temperature begins to rise due to the ozone absorbing UV and releasing heat in the breakdown of the O3 into O2 and O. There's a few other factors too but I believe that's one of the major ones.

In Finland regulations were so that if the weight is below 2kg then you dont have to inform flight control at all. I called to them just to be sure. They just answered that because you don't have to inform air control when the weight is below 2k they won't make any marks our flight. That was quite fun answer :) I found this document maybe that will help you publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?appid=11&mode=detail&id=415 . The term is "unmanned free balloon".

Because helium is less denser then air
@salmeleons
@salmeleons 9 ай бұрын
air is affected by gravity. the helium floats due to buoyancy over the air. like if you were to put an air filled balloon under water, it would float to the top, do you really think gravity is just "things go down?" its "mass attracts mass" that means that things with mass will get closer to other things with mass. please, if you dont understand something, that doesnt mean its wrong. your brain could revolve inside a peanut shell for millions of years without touching the sides.
@garnet4846

@@salmeleons mass attracts mass huh? Then how does a hot air balloon lift off earth if gravity is real and "mass attracts mass?" How come the giant mass of earth doesn't keep the balloon stuck to earth? How come your air filled balloon under water doesn't get sucked down further under water? You know, closer to earth, because "mass attracts mass." You're the one who doesn't understand things kid.

Winds? You know that wind speed and direction varies at different altitudes? You could be 5km up and have Northeast wind at 20mps and go up another 5 km and have Southwest wind at 40mps. Btw, the earth rotates at around 1040 mph( 1673 kmh) at the equator, in Finland should be around 450mph (724kmh)
@25hourpartypeople

@alexsilvestre19
@alexsilvestre19 8 жыл бұрын
Like I said, it varies. But looking at data and I'm deducting this was done in April, from what I saw in the video, Average wind speeds over a 5 year period, from April to June in that area suggest fairly low wind 5mps at 2m alt, to a max of 10mps at around 12m altitude, the shifting the other direction at 5mps. If you see his flight path it does make sense. He goes south east until a certain height, the goes slightly north east, on his decent he follows the same initia south east pattern.

You need to install some sort of valve to release part of the Helium at high altitude. Notice how the temperature rises at approx. 25 km... I don't know if Hydrogen is better (or even legal, as it is flammable), but it has about half the density of the Helium, with half the pressure you can lift the same payload... Either way it is very difficult to go higher than 50 km and, for what I've seen there isn't much difference from 30 km... Great video (pity the flatties in the comments' section...)

who do the balloons always burts?
@TheSteveSteele
@TheSteveSteele 6 жыл бұрын
Things iwant You mean why? The change in pressure makes the balloon expand until it eventually pops. Just as going deep under water would cause the pressure to build and the object would get crushed or it would implode. Also at some point balloons can’t go any higher because the lighter than air molecules in the balloon get heavier as the atmosphere becomes thinner, (and the balloon expands). With few molecules at that altitude, the balloon is no longer lighter than the atmosphere, and begins to expand at the same time eventually popping then falling back to the ground.
@StillCloser
@StillCloser 6 жыл бұрын
Pardon me, but as long as it keeps rising, the helium inside the balloon is lighter than the atmosphere. Eventually it will stop, when the air density of the stratosphere is equal to the one inside the balloon. Archimedes principle...

@@pjcouture9944 too many lol there's literally thousands of pictures of a globe earth from every space agency. I've personally seen a doctored video to show a flat horizon. Here's a couple easy ones. How do sailors and pilots, use GPS "a globe model" and end up exactly where they need to be. How can nasa predict every eclipse and pinpoint exactly how it'll effect the earth. How does a sunset or eclipse even work on flat earth How has no one in history seen the edge or ice wall

Whats the purpose of the fisheye lens? Is it to continue the fallacy of a globe earth? Earth is a fixed, motionless plane.
@paulomarinho1963
@paulomarinho1963 6 жыл бұрын
@rio skyscraper Wrong, the Earth isn't flat. Here's some balloon footage, recorded without using fish-eye lens, where the curvature of the Earth can be seen (please, pause the video and check the horizon with a piece of string, you will see that it is clearly curved): kzbin.info/www/bejne/npTIfot3hryKhJoh6m5s And this is only a small example, the evidence, proving the spherical Earth, is truly overwhelming and there's none supporting your flat plane fantasy. The Earth, beyond any doubt, is a sphere.

Why you are using camera with fish eye lens? You could of use normal lens, so it will not curve the horizon.
@Novak2611
@Novak2611 2 жыл бұрын
The goal is not to see if the earth is curved, fish eye lens are good, because it shows a wide angle. It is always used to film cycling/driving vlogs. Now if you want to see the curve, you can put a normal camera, but the curvature will be very small to see, you will need good measurement tools as the horizon will be curved like in half millimeter above the surface of basketball.
@Merlingin
@Merlingin 2 жыл бұрын
@@Novak2611 So, try next time when you launch weather ballons use camera with normal lens, or you can also replace the fish eye lens to normal on any camera. Then it will give the observer true picture of the earth.
