This hymn, Near the Cross, was my Grandmother's favorite song (which we did at her funeral). How I miss and long for the songs of Zion that sound like the melodies from heaven, untouched by the world and its worldly style. How I long for the hymns that sound like the church, the unmistakable sound that cannot be confused with anything else. I just love it and I miss it.
