@@lightkeeper1238 They are out as Epic Collections. The entire run of Star Wars Legacy is collected in four volumes. Three are the main story with Cade Skywalker and the last one is the sequel following the descendant of Han and Leia.

The Dark Times comic was Das Jennir is so underrated. He is the Clint Eastwood of the Jedi Order. Absolute beast.

Now this is an excellent collection. This is another compilation of comics from over the years just like Rise of the Sith, but these are much better stories imo. The Darth Vader minis can be hit and miss, but I love The Dark Times comics. It really hits home how horrible the period between ROTS and ANH was for the peoples of the Galaxy. Definitely recommend, I still think the KOTOR omni is a better starting place for Legends comics, but if you want a really bleak SW story that actually has characters like Vader and Palpatine this is your book.

It’s actually has much more of a continuous story than Rise of the Sith. Yes there are standalones, but it does include the Dark Times series, which make up the bulk of the omnibus. Rise of the Sith stories had very few connections to each other.

Never been really crazy about Star Wars but already own some of the Marvel omnis. The art in this looks quite good, I'm probably gonna end up ordering one. Let's hope there's no big regrets!

Picking this up for sure, I love this era of Star Wars comics. Omar is there any chance of the Legacy series getting the Omni treatment or a reprint of the first 2 epics? I think that material is some of the best Legends comics.

I'm sure all the Legends eras will be getting their own Omni line. We've already got Rise of the Sith, Old Republic, Empire then New Republic and Rebellion on the way this year. Legacy, Clone Wars, Menace Revealed and Tales of the Jedi will be filling our shelves before we know it.

Dass jennir and Bomo Greenback were a highlight for me. Really loved the Dark Times storyline. Ghost Prison was also epic and dark. Douglas Wheatly is god when it comes to Star wars comic art.

The mapping of this one is solid (probably worth moving both Lost Command and Ghost Prison to midway through Dark Times since that's when they're set), but the titling is weird - should've just called it the Dark Times omnibus. It's also missing two stories (Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin, Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows) from this era that have probably been kicked to vol.2 where they'll share the chasmic decade gap between this era and the leadup to the rebellion stuff which actually warrants the title Empire. Odd choice, though maybe they just felt this one was getting two fat. I would probably have cut the 3 Republic issues to go into the Republic omnis, but I understand why they kept them since it lets this be more standalone. I really can't abide these black border frames they're using for the front of the Legends omnibuses now, give us the fullsize cover dangit. Covers themselves are cool, though I would probably have gone with at least one of Dark Times or Purge's instead of two from the Darth Vader and the X set of miniseries, for a bit of variety. The timing of this omni is also kinda odd since the material is a fairly direct sequel to the Republic series, which doesn't have its omni yet (which in turn is a sequel to Rise of the Sith and Menace revealed material). Also lol that's K'Kruhk not Greenbark on the back at 2:41. ;) The stories themselves though are mostly really solid with a lot of classics. Dark Times itself does flounder in the middle a few times, but overall this is the capstone of Dark Horse's main SW run that started in 1998 with the Prequels beginning and it works pretty damn well.

I may end up getting this, since i have a feeling marvel is going to release all the others. Hoping they do clone wars, and make an omnibus containing Quinlan’s stories like Republic 81-83. Which I think are the final issues before It turned into Empire. Then the Legacy series , which has a lot of callbacks to Republic. And if there was an Empire vol.2 Omni not sure what would be added beside the final 2 dark times minis, and beginning of empire, maybe. I think Rebellion was published concurrently as a sister series. For people that haven’t read this era of DH Star Wars comics. Think they’d be surprised just how well the series evolved and tied together. Think what made it work so well is that it focused on characters not really featured in the movies. I also think if after this era is collected if marvel will put out an OHC of Vector.

@@Lastsonkal I'm really torn on the Marvel collections since they just seem to be shoving things together in odd ways - those Maul stories are gonna be so weird in amongst Republic, a setting his resurrection simply didn't happen in. That said, the KOTOR omni is superb... I just wish they'd titled it correctly.

Would have been great to see these as just star wars legacy omnis. Start with Star Wars, which turns into clone wars, then republic, then empire. It could have been a 4-5 or more Omni series. Throw in those minis that take place around each series and done deal. Even have Vector as a stand alone event, and be an awesome full collection. But could be collected this way to not compete with the current Star Wars series too.

I acquired the Epic collection a year ago, and I fell in love with the story. This was the only Epic series which was fully available, and I'm happy that I got them. I would really upgrade to this to have the complete stuff in omni format, but I fear that when we will get vol.2 or vol. 3 this will be unavailable, and I don't want to mix it up. I hope that Marvel realizes that these SW omnis are very popular and will keep them in print. This Empire stuff is great. Nuff said.

Re: the "dusty" feeling of the pages - I noticed something like that as well with the new Daredevil Vol. 2 OHC, where sometimes there was a rough, maybe matte texture, and some parts it was smoother and glossier - odd

Lost Command is reason enough for you to buy the omni. I always loved the Revenge of the Sith aftermath Darth Vader. He still struggles with his life as Anakin and what could have been. It give so much deepth to him. :) Unfortunate alot of fans seems not to like anything Vader that happen before New Hope, because of the prequels. :/

Honestly that book was for more of hardcore Star Wars fans. I wouldn't recommend it, it's easily a pass for most. I loved it but that's because I'm such a Star Wars fan. This book is definitely better and in my opinion of the so called Vader centric comics this one does probably the best job of showing Vader's brutality.

@@projektvyking7521 I know saying this is almost like an unspoken dead taboo but I really want to see Legends get a bunch of it's stories adapted into anime like that of SW Visions. It's the only way I can see the story and the action being faithfully portrayed in all it's dramatic glory. Live-action can only do so much with VFX before it gets awkward and strange. At least if it's anime (western or traditional) the strangeness is to be expected and mostly forgiven since it's a self-aware exaggerated (yet beautiful) art style...

@@projektvyking7521 I'd cry if Ufotable animated The First Great Schism or Hundred-Year Darkness War. The usage of mystic + archaic weapons and forgotten Force magics/sorcery would look amazing. My brain is already creating the image of the Je'daii battling each other across the ancient galaxy in a desperate struggle for their split beliefs. I'd be extremely happy if they further delve into and switch between the different Je'daii faction's perspectives of The Force and their intentions. Because from what I remember about Xendor and his research in the dark side and different Force practices, he never stated or seemed as if he aimed to dominate, kill, and destroy. He was the first incarnation of Exar Kun but solid in his beliefs and will to create change without immediate warfare. Pride, Paranoia, Fear, Dogma, Ignorance, and Hate led to the inevitable clashing of ideals and otherworldly powers that'd begin a potent cycle of Light vs Dark for eons to come. And imagine at the end of either series we just end up lost in beautiful shots of the galaxy as the last character we see monologues about their people's fate. In this case they'd probably be a sorrowful Arden Lyn or a hopeless Dark Jedi Exile. I think I typed too much. I geeked out too much 😩

They will, but it's years away. Dawn of the Jedi was only 16 issues (if you count issue #0), so they'll package it will Tales of the Jedi, which isn't even completely out yet in Epic format.

Vader/Anakin is actually better than the Master's he fought at the beginning. In terms of experience, very few Jedi actually have more experience than Anakin in battle. Sure a lot of the Master's were wiser than him, but his battle experience exceeds most because he fought at the front lines by choice. Even more insane is Vader was still getting used to his suit.
