That should be a Conan by Timothy Truman omni. In the spanish edition, there are a collection of 4 HC containing both Busiek and Truman runs

I've loved all the Conan omnis. I didn't pick these up as a kid as I didn't get interested in Conan until about 15 years ago. So cool to get all of these stories collected.

I see they have volume 8 in the hopper. Christopher Priest doing the writing? I had no idea he wrote Conan, so that should be interesting. Amazing that we’re up to 8 volumes, they must be selling well.

I was just as surprised when I found out he wrote the later issues going into the 90s. Others have told me that Mr. Priest went by a pen name at the time, so it's a surprise to be sure.

Yeah, this was back when he was writing as James Owsley. Take this for what it’s worth, but I consider his run to be as good as Roy Thomas’ work on the title. He crafted a run that built up a good supporting cast (probably the best one that Conan ever had in Marvel Comics) and it culminated in the return of King Kull nemesis… really well done. I believe his arc will run through volumes 7 and 8.

Another great Conan omnibus! I flew through this one as well, it’s just so good. Wish they would’ve included a few more issues. Looking forward to vol 7-8, Savage Sword of Conan vol 6-7 & King Conan. It’s an awesome time to be a Conan fan. Thx Omar, take care.

I have 1-5 and never was a fan as a kid as well. I have no idea why I bought these?? Every new one I get goes on the shelf unread and I feel nothing but hollow..... and 70 bucks lighter.

I don't know how many agree with me, I now get a feeling of the Quality of Stories are coming down as the volumes are moving forward Some of the artwork is also hit and miss

As usual a great and enthusiastic review, if your lost review copy ever turns up maybe you can raffle it off? I quit collecting the CTB singles after Thomas left though I read some of the Fleisher stories in the DHP TPB. I wish someone would explain the origin, nature & state of the Red Sonja license, how come she has a separate license apart from the other REH characters, and does Marvel plan to get it back from Dynamite before the new Sonja movie comes out? If I recall correctly she was practically invented by Thomas with only her name adapted from a supporting character in an obscure non Conan REH story, yet somehow she got a separate IP apart from Conan Kull Solomon Kane & co. And apparently this Sonja license was passed over by DHP and then finally got "rented" by Dynamite? How did it all happen? Also who drew the CTBTMY Vol 06 book market cover?

Loving all these Conan Omnis! Busiek’s run was my intro to Conan but now I am loving all these stories! I am surprised there has t been any announcement of a continuing omni for The Dark Horse run. Maybe it’s just too many Conan Omnis at one time (SSoC, CtB, and soon to be King Conan)? How many more volumes do you think we’ll need to complete the original Marvel years? 10?

The only Dark Horse stuff worth putting into an Omni format after the Busiek stuff is the Truman/Giorello Conan The Cimmerian and King Conan stuff (and the remaining stuff drawn by Cary Nord)...the art and writing become hit and mostly miss to me after that.

Buscema has a couple of issues in volume 1 but 2-6 are mostly his art and he will half a good chunk of art in volume 7

Wow Omar, you are quite a mark for Conan. I just can't afford to get all of those omnis, especially with how rare the first volumes are. I'm kinda glad I missed the boat, because I'd have to be all or nothing.

If Marvel reprints the early volumes you should try to pick them up. Some really great stories and art in the first volumes.

Am I a perv if I think that Marvel is being a bunch of prudes by never using the covers with sexy ladies as the DM variant on Conan and Savage Sword Omnis? As someone who owns the entire run of Savage Sword in single issues, it's funny to me that, at least in the issues of the series they've collected so far, they are having to go out of their way to avoid using covers without a damsel in a bikini. The latter half of the series doesn't use T&A as clickbait so much. For the record, I also prefer my Cimmerian barbarian bare chested, though.
