weird. I've had the same Botvac D80 for so long I can't even remember. Only issue has been changing batteries. Flawless for me.

I've had an older Neato for years, it finally died, so I ordered a D9. None of them (maybe all robot vacs?) like wires on the floor or sloped chair stands. I have to "prep" my house before I run the vac, but that only takes about 5 minutes and then the vac works fine. Your apartment sounds like a Neato-nightmare, you have everything it doesn't like. If you buy another completely different robot vac I'd be curious to know how it compares.

When I bought my first robot, I actually knew what type of obstacles it doesn't like which is common for most robots. Next time I did renovation I actually picked furnitures that will work great with pretty much all robots. Since those robots are not smart in any sense you can assume that the problem is in you, as a human, to not understand the limitations of those robots. Obviously you cannot have those types of chairs or cables laying around.

9:10 I had the same types of issues with my D10. I ended up returning mine and purchased a second D7 for our basement (I love the current D7 we have). The new D10 needs a lot of firmware bugs worked out. It eventually mapped my house, but navigation was very erratic. As far as your cables and chairs go, you're going to have that problem with any robot vacuum. If you do want to try another robot vacuum, you will probably need to create no-go lines / zones for your cables and chairs.

New series D8, D9 and D10 are much more "stupid", so they are really can't navigate well.. It always left corners uncleaned, regardless of D-shape, due to navigation issues. It can't aligned along a wall and always hit wall with bumper VS older model was able to align using lidar only. It's don't support multi room, spot clean, etc.. Even more you can't have more than one vac on same account with new series. I regret to much after switching from good smart "Neato Connected" to stupid D10.

i switched from D7 to roborock s6 max V a year ago. its navigates perfect. not stuck for a year, even if i mess around closing door. ,lifting it to another room while it cleans it still AI figure it out. and also bounce door open. "chines spy inside"... The bad side of Roborock only works OK on hardfloor. but it weigt up with it can MOP. plus remove controll from phone with live cam. perfect for a pet owner like me. but i miss the cleaning of rugs. that d7 had. D7 is even better than Dayson V11 pet edition on rugs... i want roborock navigation and camera with D7 pickup rooler.. too bad d10 cut cables....

I really like my D7, so much that I've repaired it about 5 times. Was really looking forward to the new D8-D10 but the reviews are so bad. Wish Neato had some object avoidance tech on the front. Very disappointed in the vacuums and had to purchase the Ecovacs Deebot N8 Pro which does not clean as well as my D7. Neato used to be top of the line now it's bottom of the barrel. ☹️

Just had to dig up my Neato D85 from storage as my Deebot 930 broke. Now i need to replace one wheel on it. At least D85 is still going strong after around 6 years. As a vacuum, Neatos are better.. the large brush in the front makes all the difference. On round bots, things get stuck between the bot & floor. And they cant pick up things like dry chickpeas etc, that do not fit under the bot. Neato can pick up everything. All Neato would have to do, is add low level sensor. That could see things like those chair legs, no bot has those. They all get stuck on stuff like that as they cant see it.

It is really strange that the robot has a radar but they don't use it for avoiding objects. Radar is expensive but while it has it why they use only for mapping and localization which also doesn't work well! The whole planning and mapping can be done as a simple university project and it is amazing that such a company cannot handle it! I am sure it would work much better if Neato lets programmers to program it themselves 🙂

Lidar was working fine until they abandoned old platform and created new series D8, D9 and D10. I changed from Neato BotVac Connected to D10 and it is downgrade in all terms. Longer cleaning time, navigation errors, not using Lidar (or not possible to use due to bug) to avoid obstacles in most of the cases. It can't even align itself along the wall and makes about 3 to 5 bumps in to it. Older one was aligning itself without touching a wall.

Neato loves to hump round base objects. I have an old connect that does it continuously. Round base chairs and fans it will always mess with it's mine. It is an internal issue.

Just buy Roborock S7 MaxV. Whole other league - currently best one on the market. It will feel like an alien technology to you after Neato. Sad you bought one of the worst there is as your 1st robo vac. The seller should be fired for saying this is the best one.

Great honest review and I hope Neato sees this. I've had the orig neato and up to the bot80. But that was my last and I will NEVER by another. Main reason? It just beats the crap out of my furniture, not from the front, but from backing up on it. I think Neato's robot's time has come and gone. They make a decent machine line but it does eat items like you showed and it's been doing that since the first generation. I'm in the market for a new robot and looking at Deebot N8 Pro + and the Roborock 7+. Neato, not even on the radar.

Not sure if this matters, but there is a piece of tape that runs around the top edge of the robot, which looks like you haven't removed yet.

for 600 €you could buy ecovacs t8 aivi, with self emptying bin and obstacle avoidance via ai. Shame, cause I really like Neato, I own 2 d85 and d7. was planning to buy d10, but not any more. My irobot s9 cleans the same as Neato, but is shit with navigation. No problems with ecovacs ozmo 930 in my second home tho.

You gave up too quickly. The bot takes a few tries to complete a map of your floor. Took me 4 tries. Once you get the completed map it gets easy. I also have d6 that is much easier to use. However you need a longer lasting battery pack of d10 to clean larger spaces.
@Fantomas-HiTech2 жыл бұрын
Hi, very interesting "review". Did you finally keep the Neato ? I use Neato robots (and other brands) since 2014. You have to adapt your environment to the robot. No cables, and check every trap and fix it. Your chairs and table with bars on the floor are not compatible with most robots. Anyway, my old Neato D85 performs better that this new D10 as I see. It has no app, no wifi, but it vaccums all my house perfectly. I will review a smart IA robot in the next weeks, a CECOTEC 9090ia. This robot is supposed to detect cables and things on the floor. it could be the solution for you. I have already reviewed a CECOTEC robot, it works fine. But the main brush is smaller than the Neato. If you have only hard foors, it is ok. But if you have carpet, Neato will be better along the walls. But I don't know if you can buy CECOTEC products in Sweden.
@SirPierreSe2 жыл бұрын
Thank you, no i did not keep it, and yes everyone says the same thing, the older models are way better. I´ll check that out, ive never heard of them.

@@SirPierreSe There is also the Roborock S7 MaxV which is similar
@2people-zone2 жыл бұрын
Older Neato models where much better, with D10 you should not have _anything_ on the flour, better ro remove chairs and so on, otherwise it will stuck in the same conditions where old models where navigating correctly. My advise, don't change from your D7 or any other older model just yet, as Neato abandoned old app and firmware and selling unfinished products now.
