I noticed larger emitters whilst are brighter, the wider beam tends to interfere with what you are trying to perceive where as tighter pencil beams make it easier to see. LED technology has improved so fast so eventually we'll get dot sized LEDs that can output over 1000lumens potentially competing with LEP Flashlights.

I'm getting older now and my eyes aren't what they use to be BUT I swear my possible lying eyes looks like the B version is appears to be brighter with a larger usable light. The A version is more tight leading to a possible larger throw but I can't see much further than that anyways so I'd more than likely go with the B. I don't have either so I'm not bias... Great video. What if you swap the leds between L21A and L21B? Larger head of L21B body with PM1. Could that be a ultra thrower over the original setup? Just curious.

Hi Charles, Sam Q, here. I was wondering if the Samsung INR21700-50E, SDI MI4T, unprotected battery would work safely in a Nitecore, P30 flashlight? I have a new Samsung 21700-50E, lying around. Therefore, I wanted to use it in the new P30 flashlight. That I was thinking about purchasing. That way I would be able to save around twenty-four dollars, on the new P30 flashlight. Well, a direct-drive light would always benefit from an unprotected high-discharge cell. But Convoys are regulated, so that wouldn't matter. But mah always would. I prefer Panasonic Orbtronic batteries whenever possible and the highest mah, such as 3500, or in the case of 21700s, 5500 mah for runtime. A good brand can also use a better core cell, which will keep the battery performing under load longer, too. Sanyo is also. Gotta watch for massive fraud with batteries. Know the vendor.

That's quite the pencil beam there. Quite impressive for a Medium sized Flashlight at a reasonable price. Not a huge fan of the Nebo Battery packs though.

I don't know why people say too much throw is useless. You don't understand the disappointment I get when the trees can no longer be fully lit from 100m from my Maglite with 500 Lumen drop in. You can carry 2 flashlights, one for throw, one for big floody hot spot.

Nebo at 500 lumens just doesn't cut it. Nitecore P30i is killer.

Yes, but sure as hell can throw! And it's a pleasure to carry. It is mostly compared here because of the emitter type and because I plan to do one with the same emitter in the Convoy c8+ later.
