OMG. The tenacity these dudes brought every game. I'd be shitting my pants if I was Wuerfel or Huard and Wistrom and Peter had me in their sights!

Nice to see Trev Alberts again. Didn't win a championship, but opened many eyes to the fact that Nebraska did have good athletes.

Only ONE play each for Barron Miles and Ed Stewart? Nothing for Travis Hill? The 1994 KSU game was Barron Miles,LP, the O line and our FBs. Plus, a key INT by Troy Dumas.I understand,though.Only so many moments you can fit in.Great video! Thumbs up!

Look at the intensity, the head-swiveling, and straight up attitude these Blackshirts have. Compare that to the current "Blackshirts" and it's a bunch of guys going through the motions though some do show flashes (JoJo Domann). If Nebraska is to go back to the dominance they had, they need to change the attitude. NEVER tolerate losing. NEVER tolerate mental errors (you're playing college ball ffs) and just flat out crave wins (individual and team) like a thirsty man craves water. But nope, not going to happen, we don't have a Dabo or Saban and no coach of that caliber would ever come here so we have to settle for Frost.

@@BLACKSHIRTTIM won in jan 96 though. And consensus NCs, Neb only won 71, 94, 95. NCAA com does not recognize non consensus. And in 97, come on, MI 3 votes from consensus Neb, cough, 31 votes
@maubunky1 Жыл бұрын
@@robjohnson8861 At the end of the 1997 season, Nebraska won the voting on the coaches poll (while Michigan with an absolute zero of a QB named Griese who just so happened to be the son of a famous news media personality by the name of Griese won the news media vote...nepotism anyone?), meanwhile Nebraska in it's bowl game walloped the number 2 team in the country, Tennessee, led by that semi-talented guy by the name of Peyton Manning. Michigan only barely beat the number 8 team in the country, Washington State, in it's bowl game. Frankly we all know coaches know the game of football more than those news media shills. I mean, come on, before the 1996 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl all the news media lemmings could focus on was how Nebraska couldn't play on real grass. The media are brainless idiot zombies who hyped up Michigan all season...the coaches are the ones that really know the game. 1997 Huskers will always remain the real champions.

Coach in the 60's was sent out to get a different colored jersey for the defense, so that they wouldn't be wearing the same color as the offense. All the store had were black jerseys. Idk how long that was actually the standard color for the practice jersey, at some point in time it turned into you had to earn it. The rest of the defense might be wearing green/whatever but 1 or 2 guys gave black shirts on because they earned them.
