question, can kendall white set/attack like that in front of the 3 meter line? bc i thought liberos aren’t allowed to set with hands in from of it. 1:19:35

White is able to do that because the rule about libs hand setting in front of the three meter line applies to the hitter, not the libero. Say instead of dumping she had set Ali Frantti, the violation would be called when Frantti contacted the ball. Officially, the rule is if a libero uses their hands in front of the three meter line, the second or third contact can’t occur above the plane of the net. Other liberos jump into the ball when hand setting, because it’s more deceptive, and possibly fools blockers. White’s dump is more successful if the team she’s playing doesn’t notice where she is. A good defense will see that her handset is either coming over the net, such as in this example, or a free ball third contact will happen. Hope this helps!!

ahhh im like a month late but 1) Nebraska vs. Penn State 2017 NCAA semi-finals (I think it’s also in the title lol) 2) Nebraska won the first set 25-18 3)Kenzie Maloney, Nebraska’s Liberian 4) I only ever watch volleyball once in a blue moon but I think there’s a rule like blockers in the front can’t put their hands too over the net idk if that makes sense im so sorry haha
