How can you not love the passion and attention to detail of the Retropower boys? Especially Stu. Genuine old-fashioned metalworking skills at an unbelievable level. And their approach to machinery is totally HubNut: none of this "Smallest Cog" with brand-new everything, they have motor-adapted bead rollers, an English wheel that has earned its keep for a very long time, and an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" set of welding kit.

Thank you for the calendar. Scotty got a well deserved oil change Sunday, after his run up and down the M40. Here's an idea; The Classic Motor Show should employ people like you to take groups around the show, pointing out details like you do in this video. The show would be so much more engaging, having things brought to life by some one who knows what they're looking at.

I think the Hillman Hunter rally win (15:30 ish) was actually London to Sydney. Shortly afterwards, I owned a Hunter in rural New South Wales, and my surprise was increased (not a rough roads car). It was such a shock that the Rootes Group distributors didn't have any PR stuff ready to capitalise on it. Thank you showing us the pretty cars (a lot of them are pretty, indeed).

Hi Ian, I live in France and today, on a routine shopping trip, I saw a Renault 7! I then shouted across the car to my bemused wife 'WOW A RENAULT 7, IVE NEVER SEEN ONE BEFORE" I then returned home and put your film on, only to be confronted in the dying moments with, not only a Renault 7, but one in the same colour I had seen earlier today! What are the odds on that!

This show is my favourite, and the walkabout commentary whilst it is quiet is exceptional. I have it on my list, of things to do since I lost my left leg in June '20, spent 20 months in bed, began walking April this year, hope to walk unaided perhaps next year around this show.....Time will tell. 100k knocking on the 🚪, should be a great Christmas 🎄 present 🎁.

Andy Saunders is an absolute legend, I've been following him since the 80's in Street Machine Magazine, amongst many others he did 2 amazing Citroen CX builds. I hadn't seen the RIley before and thought it was a Delahaye, I love the Cord too. I am with you regards the Picasso 2CV though, that was a miss for me. Check out his car called "Claustophobia", that thing is crazy considering Andy is 6ft 4!

Great video Ian, but I must correct you with regard to the Triumph 2000 that you saw. That car is actually a 2.5 PI which I owned many years ago and sold to a Triumph enthusiast .It did at one time drive with twin carbs when the wife used it as daily transport .When I bought her a Triumph Acclaim I put the PI gear back on and that was how I sold her with about 50 K on the clock. Fantastic to see the old girl at the NEC. Never did I expect that. Thank you so much for allowing me to see my old classic. Keep up the great videos.

The Cavalier Calibre was based on the Cavalier SRi 130, with bespoke Irmscher bodykit. Rare car. The Chevette/Kadett was sold in many guises, including a Chevrolet as you said - Isuzu made a sports coupe in the 1980s called the Piazza - smart looking car in an 80s kind of way, and it was based on the Chevette.

One thing l noticed how colourful classic cars are so much to look at l also like your detailed knowledge of classic cars and l realy like Project Utah l like it because it has the solution to many unreliable classic you make it reliable by putting a Toyota engine in it and the Toyitas all that reliability lovely and you mentioned the 1968 London to Sydney marathon were the Hillman Hunter won the Citreon DS got taken out but why the owner of the Daily Mail wanted a british built car to win well he got his wish done a bit of research on it and the reason why Hillman didn't make a big deal of it

Thanks for the walkaround and kind words on my acty. Hi I had Toyota Corona mk2 when I was 18 always being pulled up by the police asked is this your car sonny then given yellow ticket to produce documents at the local station. It was quite swift compared with the stuff the british were turning out not to mention tinted windows and radio, cigar lighter front and rear lots of toys for the time, loverly car but rust took it in the end. My god that was 43 years ago. Thanks for the videos Ian always look out for them

Fab video Ian. A few personal faves: the Mk1 Tranny (twin-wheel, lift-up rear door); the Chevette/ Kadett stand (the latter resembles the Oz Holden Gemini); the Triumph Toledo/ 1300 pair; the FIAT 1500 Spyder (gorgeous); didn't know that about Gatsonides; I want (need) a SAAB 94 (give us a bit more, please); the Mk1 Fiesta with Serck font(?) numberplates; I haven't seen a Peugeot 104 since the dark ages. Lovely job, looking forward to Part 2, I hope you give me a better view of that metallic green VX 4/90.
