As a 9 year old the Biollante Godzilla design wowed me. One of my favorite movies even if it did start up on the beam-spam format. Well I give a Biollante a pass on it for being the first. KiryuGoji is a GREAT design...but god damn that Godzilla has the personality of a dead lobster! Such a drag since either the SOS Godzilla or GMK Godzilla is my favorite Millennium just based on design.

@@Irrelevant402 Oh, ok, well, i can't say if I prefer showa or Heisei, heisei is definitely more epic, and serious, and i personaly love the personality pf heisei goji, but the showa fights are silly, but for some reason extremely adictive, for example the final fight of destroy all monsters, it is just so pleasuring to watch all of them acting allmost like humans, teaming up, making strategies, amd all together kicking ghidorahs butt. There is only one thinkg that i dont like about the showa era - Minilla

these look beautiful! I'll finally have a 6-inch 1989 Godzilla that doesn't cost an arm, and i'll probably will only get the 1989 since i already have an SHMA 2002. And it's obviously sad that the NECA Godzilla line is "over" they're one of the things that got me into Godzilla, but they did give us collectors 6 years of enjoyment and i can't thank them enough for what they gave to us!

I'm really sad to see the end of NECA's Godzilla line. I fell in love with their 2014 figures when they first came out, and ever since then I've been a super fan of their work. I especially loved how affordable these were for such detailed figures. Every other American Godzilla line pales in comparison to these guys. Six years went by way too quick. To be fair though, they finished strong. These look great, in my opinion.

I starred colecting neca only half a year ago, and i agree with you, i have the '56 poster version (wanted the normal '54 but it wasn't available), '62, '64, '95, '2001, and 2019 v2, and I am definitely getting the '89, and after that i will probably buy the '03.

I literally have the shma 2002 Godzilla and it doesn't have this problem. Just like I got a horrible version of the neca 2019 goji with derpy eyes and fucked up gums. Neca kind of shot themselves in the foot by not wanting to make a ghidorah and other kaiju but would make a Richard Simmons. It's sad, because I got every Godzilla figure they've made and this bio goji has to be the best by far. They'll probably be back eventually I hope. Plus, there's plenty of Godzilla merch to buy. They're just not as articulated as neca and shma.

These figures really look awesome, and for the time being, they will be NECA's final masterpiece sendoffs. But I remember watching an interview between Pixeldan and Randy, the VP and general manager of product development for NECA. He stated that it's gonna be more like a hiatus, and the NECA Godzilla line may return sometime soon after Godzilla vs Kong. Here's to hoping for the absolute best! Also, please tell me more about that "Blue Ghidorah".

I got my 89 today. I love it. NECA did an awesome job on BioGoji. As for the 2003..... that neck and shoulder articulation makes it look like a guy in a suit wearing a large head piece. It's so odd. I'm happy with my 89.

It’s deff a last minute change on their part, I think they had the right pulled out from under them with the losing of the rights. 2003 was more than likely meant to release later on, because that doesn’t seem like a strong move NECA was confident in at all. Dude I just got mine this week in Canada. I am floored. Best NECA Godzilla figure of all time, period. I think its a complete home run. The eyes may not be totally accurate, but they are fierce. Also GvsB had SO many different Godzilla heads used, some with or without eye whites, its hard to pick just one. I've seen pics online that show that surely NECA looked at these as references when crafting this beauty. They were spot on. The paint apps are sublime, the teeth on mine verge on Monsterarts quality (from the good factories!). They nailed his demeanor, his look. To me it's a masterpiece. What a way to go out, NECA 🔥🔥🔥

Great review..i dont collect all the Neca figs just my favorite designs..62..84..so i was deciding which to get between the two...based on your review im going with 89..As a long time fan and collector since 1976 when i bought my first Marvel G comic i have seen so many companies come and go...I do agree Neca has advanced so much since the first wave..Kudos to them for earning the right in my opinion to be right up there with Bandai..SHMA and Xplus ..I do truly believe once G vs K comes out they will start up the G line again..and if nothing else the announcement will bring is a bigger demand for they're G Figs and more of an appreciation from us fans for the work they have done to bring us our favorite G designs in great detail with an awesome price point...they will return....

I don't have the biogoji yet so my judgements are only preliminary, but for me at least I find the KiryuGoji to be NECA's greatest figure of all time. Its way more suit accurate than I even initially realized, the wonk eye on mine wasn't all that present, and the issues with the neck articulation really don't matter that much. You don't really need to use the neck articulation that much: I found much more value in the head and torso possibility, making up for anything that isn't possible with the neck. Meanwhile the biogoji has a sorta weird torso shape and the head is frankly just silly looking with the chipmunk cheeks. But of course, I'll have to see for myself.

Fun fact: i was supposed to get both of them. What happened? Well, I got the neca Godzilla 2003 not on time and I got delivered to some random lady. And when I got it the tail was broken. I think we can all agree that playmates won't ever get even close to the quality neca gave us, i dont think it was smart to give the rights for GvK to playmates, i mean, neca was for both kids, and adult colectors, and playmates is just for kids, and by kids, i mean little kids, like 8year old kids, i can personaly say that im 13 and from what i've seen that playmates has done and is doing, i am not interested at all in their figures.

They were never meant to be of that same quality, ToHo wants fast and quick profits and Playmates can deliver that. They overlooked (most) other US producers in favor of something that’ll cost less, do less and make more. It’s their style. The Playmates stuff doesn’t look too bad, for what they are. All we can do is hope NECA can secure the rights after GvK wraps up its run in theaters and stores.

I just wish neca was here to introduce us to the monsters with their well-sculpted&articulated figures. Allso did you notice that the beam effect of the '89 goji kinda looks like the spiral beam? I don't mean the red spiral breath that he used from godzilla vs mechagodzilla 2 on, but the blue (and less powerfull) version he used to decapitate one of ghidorahs heads in godzilla vs ghidorah.

A blow dryer always works for me, couple minutes of that or a bowl of hot water to soak the figure in! Either way really works wonders! Sometimes the figures just arrive not as stiff as usual, believe it or not.. but that’s RARE heh Hope this helps!

If they get the rights back, im sure they'd jump at the chance. But seeing as how they've labeled this as the "LAST CHANCE TO GET NECA GODZILLA" and that they will no longer be selling or producing Godzilla content after Mid-August, it's looking pretty grim until much else is said.

ordered my 89 goji last night, sadly missed my chance for 2003, maybe il get the repaint, these will probably be the last godzilla figures i buy for a long time, spending hundreds of dollars on mediocre SH monster arts releases just doesnt sound like a good investment to me, the bandai movie monster series sucks now, and the playmates figures are a joke.
