I got mine a few weeks ago and he’s my favorite figure. I currently have 36 of the NECA line but I’ve hit kind of a wall, the ones I need seem to be extremely expensive (tokka and rahzar, krang Walker and shredder etc)

Probably my favorite action figure of all time. Superb review, btw! Other than the belt, the only thing that has me a bit nervous is how flimsy and frail the hat's cord is. Love this figure! GOD Bless, all!

For the belt elastic, I looped it around the kunai and threaded it between the sword sheath and it holds well and looks good.

Just got mine in today and agree that the cloth belt (as of now) doesn't really seem to be necessary. Couldn't help pose him with the hat hiding his eyes in true samurai fashion. One of the most fun figures I have gotten where I barely know of the character (never saw the TMNT episodes he was in).

Neca should have given him a plastic belt with the swords sheath like the one chrome dome has. Or a peg hole on the belt to put the sheath bc he is a samurai. Great review as always sir!!

First time hearing about Paul Harding. So he's the guy that has done some of the newer figure sculpts. Haven't really noticed any improvements, they've all been overall just as good to me, so I'll take your word with some of the more recent ones being better. Yeah, the only real downside is the black elastic belt. I remember an earlier image showing the scabbards housed within the light grey belt that's on the figure. It would've been better if the belt was sculpted over them, and you could plug the scabbards on the side. Or at least, include an elastic band that's a similar colour to the belt. Nothing that can't be fixed via going to Hobby Lobby to get a similar coloured elastic strap, then attaching the two ends via some thread or glue. Eh, probably too much effort than I'm willing to do. Regardless, Usagi's still a better release than I would've imagined.

As usual, great sculpt and paint but average engineering, it's a great original TMNT cartoon Usagi Yojimbo representation. Since Usagi is a much loved character I was expecting extra good engineering but this version will fit the part wonderfully. I will be glad to add it to my Neca TMNT cartoon display but I'm still waiting for the ultimate Usagi Yojimbo. In my opinion the perfect version of the character will have the Stan Sakai original manga look with great engineering, maybe some cloth goods over a well engineered plastic body. It's only a matter of time, I believe it will eventually be release by a Japanese action figure company, Bandai, MaxFactory, Kaiyodo, Medicom, 1000toys or even Sentinel, who knows. I would also love to own a Mezco ONE:12 interpretation. Thanks for the review Toy Bro.

I think NECA made the right decisions with them all. It makes sense for Splinter's ghee to be fabric due to it being the only thing he's wearing - plus other Splinter's have removable ghee's. With Usagi, his ghee is tucked into pants. The ribbon tied belt wouldn't be as accurate or nice being fabric. Everything would look too poofy and cumbersome; and it just wouldn't be a consistent flow compared to other figures, including all previous Usagi's. I'm not saying it might not have looked good (like how TiD have cloth pants & trenchcoats), just saying I totally get why they did what they did.

It's crazy how many KZbinrs ended up paying a premium off AliExpress to get Usagi early instead of waiting to get them from the NECA store. Definitely way more went this route then the previous figures, so apparently Usagi was much more anticipated compared to Mondo, Muckman, etc. But I know it all has to do with reviewing a figure as early as possible, even if it's not officially out yet. Just never would've thought Usagi was this popular. Definitely look forward to getting my two from NECA whenever they come out. Here's hoping they'll be readily available at Target; and please let those toon Tokka & Rahzar's hit Target's, cause 98% of us collectors never had a chance with getting them off that Costumes.com site.
