Oh, boy, could you please do a long video about this? I have this problem four years after a whiplash car accident that was not treated correctly. I've done 5 months of physical therapy now, but I can always use more information! As you said in the video, when I took a sedentary job after the accident, I started slouching in front of computers, and everything just got so much worse.

My neck hurts all the time. I've developed a habit of laying down all day or as often as I can just to ease the strain on my neck and back. I'm probably making it worse through lack of exercise. I'm certainly gaining weight.

Sorry to hear. Are you able to see a physio?

@@JeannieDiBonHypermobility I've just finished a session with a physical therapist who taught me several stretches and exercises to stabilize my joints. I have a list with pictures of the exercises I am to do daily. I have not yet made it a habit.

Hi I have the same exact problem. 💔 Literally stuck in bed half the day. Any updates? The only exercise I enjoy is swimming. Used to wrestle weightlift run, but now I can’t anymore.

@@LARISSA.KAY. swimming is great. I find that the pain gets worse on days when I'm sitting at a screen or bent over a task for long periods. The pain eases when I can do light, full-body activity that doesn't strain, but moves everything around. On those days I only need short lay-down rests, then some gentle "cat-cow" stretches get me up and moving again. My physical therapist taught me some excellent neck exercises that, if I do them regularly, greatly reduce the pain. Head lift/chin tuck from a laying down position is one. Another is gently pressing on a ball or balloon against the wall with the side of your head. Some stretches, like look to the side, then down at your armpit. Hope this helps!

@@AutumnPizzicatothis didn’t show up in my notifications before..but I have noticed the only exercise that doesn’t put me in more pain is swimming. I doesn’t really improve my neck pain, but it doesn’t make it worse so why not? Still trying to figure things out w the doctors

My upper thoracic spinal vertebraes slide around when I move my right shoulder blade. I hope to stabilize my vertebraes.

I always get very severe headaches and migraines from movement, exercise or training of the neck
