I just wanna say that I've ordered a knife off your website for a low price and it was quite literally the best knife I own, I am extremely impressed, although it did take awhile to get here, but that's because I live in Canada. I genuinely think that everyone should purchase knives off of them.

After this past couple years of staying home wearing baggy pajamas as your daily outfit, neck knives are so much better than leaving a pocket knife flopping around a pair of loose fitting pants

Just got my CRKT drop point today. Some ppl complain about the retention of the sheath. The retention is good. I added the clip to the sheath and it fit my belt perfectly. I just wish there was a better way to keep it from sliding between my 1:00 belt loop and the 12:00 belt buckle area. I’ll see what I can do about keeping it still. It’s still a great tool and I’m glad I got it. The draw came natural too, no issues even if it did float around from 12-1:00. As far as retention, I wouldn’t sleep with it on, but I wouldn’t worry about it falling out either unless you’re doing something rough, then you might not want to be wearing a blade anyway. Just my review.

I have the CRKT S.P.E.W. I tried the neck knife thing once but I prefer to 'scout' carry it on the right side of my belt buckle. Totally disappears, I can't even tell it's there. I'm a big guy though so that may not work for everyone. Love it, especially for that price point with a sheath and belt carry solution. Super handy, and makes a great little inexpensive utility knife.

I carry a Brisa/Enzo neck knife Viking style (tip down); especially when I am ice fishing, outside my coat. Low chance of going through the ice but if I do it may save my life. The only beef with the Enzo is that the Micarta handle is slick out of the box; a little sandpaper took care of that. This knife is well built and the leather sheath is of the highest quality and the price can’t be beat.

One additional comment: Unlike some the other knives in this video, it is made, I believe, in Finland NOT WITH CHINESE SLAVE LABOR. It also has a scandi grind and is perfect for what I also use it for when hiking and camping. Not sure why it does not get more love in the knife community.

I carry the Bradford G-Necker. I never take it off. Shower. Sleeping. Never comes off. I did lose the last one I had because I took it off at the hot springs. And then stumbled off the bed. It was gone in the morning. I ordered a new one and now it never comes off. I definitely use ball-chains instead of paracord. That way I will breakaway in a pinch. I used the Spyderco ARK but it fell out and got lost when I was snowboarding. I’ve used a bunch of others but the Bradford is just so perfect.

Given that I’m a big guy, I prefer not to belt carry when I’m hiking because unless it’s on a dangler it’s likely rubbing in an uncomfortable spot, and adding a dangler makes it a bit of a floppy carry. If scout carrying I prefer it in the small of my back, but that usually interferes with my pack. As such, I’ve found neck carry to be the way to go on the trail. My current neck rig is the White River FC3.5 Pro because it’s light and low profile, large enough for most tasks I need, throws sparks like no one’s business, and is S35VN so I don’t need to worry about it rusting from sweat.

I carry a titanium neck spike with breakaway cord, only when I'm traveling. Its about 5 inches long...3/8 diameter at thickest point...extremely sharp tip and so strong it will go thru heavy sheet-steel effortlessly. Like my knives in the pocket, on the belt, and one on the boot. Three is one, one is none...and a spike follows up.

I agree with Dallas (and Kurt) on neck knives. I wore them for about two years on and off, but I felt like someone could use it against me and choke me out. About a year after I tried the beaded chain and it kept ripping hairs out. I do have a Cold Steel ParaEdge from the 90's and the sheath fit nicely into the rear loop of my jeans (without going all the way through) and I would loop the paracord through the next two belt loops to the left and give a simple knot for scout carry. I still love neck knives but I will only belt carry them or strap them to my Maxpedition sling bag.

I have a Rockstead Chou as a neck knife and recently been carrying a winkler belt knife(not as a neck knife) and whilst I like the idea and size of neck knives I found that I’m not a big fan of sheaths. I find folders more convenient being able to fold away and store with one hand. The problem I find with sheaths is that if you cut something and get dirt/grease/gunk/tree sap etc on the blade then you don’t really want to re sheath it before cleaning the blade otherwise I feel like the gunk would be trapped in the sheath forever. And sometimes if you’re in the middle of doing something and need both hands, you can’t really conveniently clean and sheath the blade mid job. And when I did carry the Rockstead, it was never round my neck, I had about a 2cm loop of paracord with a carabiner and clipped it to my 2 o’clock belt loop on my trousers.

I love the esee izula and I don't carry it around my neck. I keep it on my 5 o'clock iwb. It's out of the way, doesn't pop out of the sheath when prone ( I'm in crawl spaces alot for work) and it's a great hard use knife that's great for edc. But its always my back up. to my slip joint knives, other folding knifes or larger fixed blades. But if I'm going swimming, I pack it solo. I swim in rivers and creeks with my dogs. I've had my izula for 7 years now and I've put it through work that I've broken buck 119s on. That little knife is TOUGH. mine is the 1095 version.

I don't have a neck knife but one reason I would consider one is for my hobby - crewing for hot air balloons. It is handy to have a knife to cut/trim zip ties (holding banners on) etc. It is also a good idea to have one in case someone gets caught in a line in an emergency situation. Pocket knives with a clip to keep them quickly accessible work ok as long as they can be accessed and opened one handed while wearing gloves. Fixed blade knives in a belt holster don't have to be opened, but are a bit of a danger - they can get caught on lines and cause the bad situation you're carrying them to deal with. In addition, you really want to have a knife on both your left and right side - just in case it is your dominant hand/arm that is caught in a line. A neck knife might be a good alternative - out of the way, not getting caught on anything. Accessible with either hand, no fooling around opening it... I'll have to think about this a bit more.

While I don't think the designer optimized the grip ergonomics, the QSP Neckmuk is an example of an excellent neck knife with outstanding fit and finish at any price, but for what it costs, its pretty outrageous. It makes a great small game and general utility knife. The FFG on it makes for very efficient cutting and slicing (rather thin edge) and the kydex sheath is perfectly executed. I highly recommend it...and that price! I have the blue linen micarta one, and I friggin love it. I swapped out the chain for 550. I carry many different neckers, and Im always on the hunt for a new one.

Only time I usually carry a neck knife is when I'm fishing. In summer here in Pennsylvania I walk or kayak the creeks but mostly walk and cast in holes for walleye and small mouth. I do this at least a couple times a week during summer it's it's literally the only time I'll ever carry one. I carry one bc my folders are expensive and don't wanna get rust on them and I don't need a big heavy fixed blade bc all wear is shorts, a shirt, shoes and a soft case tackle box. Don't have an expensive neck knife but I use a crkt spew for the last 2 summers and it's done a great job! Wouldn't mind something new though. Be cool to get one in one if the rust proof supersteels if that's what you wanna call it

Hi super cool you guys are doing this video. I do neck carry the Esee Izula 440C every single day even when I shower. For myself I like carrying neck knives because of the convenience thereof and that it's simply with me at all times. I also feel that I'm playing a small part in paying homage to the Native American people whom I have tremendous respect for whom were the Pioneers in carrying neck knives and they had the most awesome decorations on their knives and sheaths making it functional art pieces or functional jewelry. I'm still in search for the perfect neck knife which to me might be the Giantmouse gmf 1. I know it comes with a beautiful leather sheath but a custom kydex sheath can always be at the ready for the awesome gmf1.. My neck knife is a tad on the larger side, three inch blade four inch handle. The Esee Xancudo. Around my neck, whenever I'm not in bed. The sheath is perfect for neck deployment and re-sheathing. The Xancudo was developed for mountain climbing, so the sheath is extra secure. Using your forefinger and thumb, you can easily push the sheath off the blade. Once the blade has been inserted into the sheath, using the same finger and thumb, hold the sheath and click the knife into its home. I do this one-handed every time I use my knife. The utility minded spear-point blade resembles a non-tactical, non-threatening steak knife. The high viz orange and black handle only add to this. I have a folder (Benchmade Barrage) that is with me when I'm in jeans. I'm only in jeans about 65 percent of the time. I'm in need of a knife 100 percent of the time. Neck knife was the obvious answer. I'm usually EDCing two knives, which is always a good thing. The best part. One of them is a fixed blade, also always a good thing. Thanks, Blade HQ, keep the videos coming.

Y'all should poll your subscribers and do a feature on duty carry. A lot of knives are presented as being made for the Military and LEOs, but I suspect that what those professionals ACTUALLY carry might differ from what the marketers would have you believe.

I have found most next knife's dont have enough retention. So i use a gerber strong arm on a cord around my neck. Dont like belt knifes while working around the chipper , cant get a folder outta my pocket with gloves on. So a neck knife is my choice while at work.

Do not buy the CRKT Minimalist! I had one and loved it, but it started popping out of it’s sheathe. That’s something no knife should EVER do let alone a tiny sharp one right near your neck. Still love CRKT and have bought more from them. Why do I use a neck knife? I am disabled, live alone, and work all in my apartment. Often my clothes has no pockets and sometimes, I just wear only my underwear (living the dream). After the Minimalist, I now just use edc blades and clip them to my collar. My current knife is the Spyderco Salt 2 in LC200n with a Wharncliffe blade. My favorite knife companies are: Spyderco-my first love. I’ve owned one since the gen 1 Endura which I think was serrations only. Kershaw - love the flippers and had a skyline in my pocket for ages, CRKT - Just ordered the LCBK.

Love the design of many of them but yea I just can't do neck carry. Fortunately most of them have great carry options for belt or on your pack etc.

Dallas, I was with you on the nothing around the neck thing. Then I discovered the world of neck knives and I really wanted to try one out. Absolutely loved the quick access to a small blade, and the right knife/shirt color combo can look quite nice too. Now I was sold on neck knives but still didn't like the cord around my neck thing, so I threw away what came with every knife and made my own paracord necklaces for each knife. I used breakaway fasteners on all of them thus alleviating that issue. I found ones that were just right. Strong enough to yank the knife out but will still break away if someone tries grabbing it. Honestly I'm not that concerned with someone grabbing it anyway. I was a jiu-jitsu fighter for many years, if you're dumb enough to walk up and grab my neck you deserve what's about to happen to you 😉

The CRKT SPEW is impressively light and comfortable. I wear it around my neck at home and on the campsite to minimize what’s in my pockets. The SPEW is a good companion / secondary knife for small tasks.
