"If you're watching this in the year 2020, perhaps." Whoa, Ben saw into my FUTURE.
Where neck knife carry really shines is for women, Think about it. A lot of women's clothes don't have pocket's of coarse you can carry in your purse but in a emergency situation that is not an option. I personally love this, I know that MANY "people"believe they can just call 911 but I believe EVERYONE should take responsibility for their own safety when really needed because police are ALWAYS 3-7 minutes away. Retired Firefighter/EMT. A knife Co. could really corner the market IF they made sheaths PRETTY and something the average woman would want to wear as well as practical. ( as always some of us JUST DON'T CARE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE AS LONG AS IT WORKS)

the instinct to collect and to some extent, hoard, probably evolved through natural selection. those who had a compulsion to surplus equipment and food, equipment being vital to the procurement of the latter, survived and reproduced. today, many people gave adapted to the big city environment where everything is provided for them, and have lost this instinct for the most part.

This actually opened up my eyes to a lot more ways to carry a neck knife. I've been carrying a lot of EDC neck knives, and over time, I've grown a few preferences to carrying neck knives. I've found: -If you're running, get e knife with a longer lanyard (down by your stomach), so that it's not as obvious. -Parachord is better than beads (especially for running and walking), unless you live in a hot area, in which it starts to smell bad (I sweat a lot, and I have a specific color of neck knife, and not a color of Paracord to match it. -You need a happy middle ground between low carry and high carry. If it's too low, it'll get caught on tables, and if it's too high, it's too obvious. Also, Zac, the bullet ant is known to be the most painful bite in the insect kingdom, and is comparable to getting shot.

Hi men, it seems u know a lot about this type of knives. In your opinion, is the crkt minimalist a good neck knife or it is too uncomforable?
@beentheredonethat59087 ай бұрын
@@albaeivanp7493Garbage! Neck knives are mkre kf a inconvenience and a waste of money. An edc clip folder KS far superior in everyday. A neck knife is for military and an extra hiding place, zero convenience at all, the sheaths actually do wear out, then a knife falls down your shirt, they are tk small for a good grip for more then a few seconds, great if your tied up or in a hostage situation, for everything else straight bull sh1t

I carry the Ruko Neck & Boot knife. I bought this knife probably over 10 years ago and I thought it was one of the worst purchases ever because I could never find a use for it. I lost the clip, the chain broke so it was just a knife and a sheath. But I made an adjustable Paracord necklace for it and it's actually very comfortable. I even wear it when I sleep. You guys brought up a very good point, I rarely use it because my muscle memory doesn't go to "neck" when I think "knife." I just found your channel and I love you guys...great humor! I love my neck knives and although they are not my primary cutting tools they do have multi uses. The fact that I have a neck knife readily available is (psychologically) comforting in the woods. Quick deployment. Visible. Strangely, other hikers step to one side of the trail when they see me coming; it could be the military tactical look with the neck knife :) My favorite neck knife is a Mora Companion conversion with a 4" ferro rod (or a Bic) attached with industrial Velcro. Total weight is 4.8oz including a 40" 550 hanger. I sawed off the sheath belt loop and smoothed the edges with sandpaper. In my backpacking trips around the world I never lost a neck knife. I've lost four pocket folders either by confiscation or just misplacement. The confiscation was at an airport when I forgot to put it in my checked luggage...my most favorite Spyderco, too. Yeah, it sucks to run with a neck knife but a sliver of duct tape will resolve the problem...that is if you don't have chest hair:)

I carry a Microtech halo 5 and halo 6 some days, they have a nice little kydex belt holsters. I NEVER leave home without taking one of them. The halo 6 is a polished hell hound tanto, halo 5 is a standard tanto elmax. LOVE THEM!!

Best reason for wearing a neck knife is. Just in case, the lower half of your body and fixed blade gets consumed by a shark. You still have a way to defend the upper half of your body! And possibly retrieve what was taken ! )
@UnseenSpirit5 жыл бұрын
Another reason to wear a neck knife is that if you have bee's attacking the bottom half of your body, you can grab a knife from your neck area and fend them off

I love the Tops MSK 2.5. That is a great little knife. Very good for cutting meat/food. Gutting fish and as a hunting knife for smaller game.And a great companion knife for small woodwork when you carry a big knife. When you carry a big knife you often wish it was smaller when you do whittling that are moore delicate. It makes the package complete in my book. Here in the north(Norway) it was often used in the old days,in the wintertime. Heavy clothes in winter makes it moore easy to use a neck knife then a beltknife.Heavy jacket over your hips etc. just my points on the neck knife uses.

I have been EDCing the CRKT /Folts minimalist ( bowie blade) for well over a year, and I use it almost every day. I know neckers are not for everyone, but it does a lot of the small tasks that I really don't need to pull my big flipper out for.

I bought the crkt minimalist drop point a while ago before I’ve even seen this video and I love it. It’s great for edc, everyday use, boxes, mail, ropes etc. it would be great for personal defense too in my opinion. Y’all really undersold/undermined it(granted y’all had the tanto blade but still). Good video.

I've carried a locally-made neck knife for years now. I carry it in a sheath with a AAA-cell Pelican light so I always have a knife and a flashlight with me. Not terribly comfortable to sleep with, but I haven't spent much time trying to find the most comfortable way to carry it. I recently impulse-bought a 5,11 fixed blade knife to combine with a really small O-light flashligh. We'll see how they work out,

I’ve carried a KBAR neck knife (mini fighting knife shape, stainless steel with skeletonized handle but don’t know the name) for 2 years and like the knife. It weighs about 6 ounces, 3 by 3/4” blade. It’s been good for camp cutting chores and I hardly feel it when hiking. The only thing I’ve noticed is the black coating is wearing after nearly everyday use but it only cost $10.

Benchmade adamas push knife is awesome. Have to put a 550 cord wrap on it for comfort though. Adds a bit of personal style as well. Gave mine to my 18yo daughter. Comes with a belt clip attached but easy to remove.

I backpacked Isle Royale carrying the CRKT Minimalist Bowie as a neck knife and strapped to my sheath knife. This little knife was the blade I used the most for common cooking and small cutting tasks. I don’t believe I used the bigger knife at all that week.

I've carried the ESEE Izula as a necker since they first came out. It may be a little on the large side, but I don't even notice it anymore. I did so from the defensive mindset initially, but all my use of it has been utility. It's been a great little blade.

I could the tip in the catch the sheath & hook my thumb on the sheath. I have used them them in lots of different situations...& jobs... once you get used to it...it is really handy

I carried the Urban Pal for quite a while and really enjoyed it for the most part. I think the shape is ideal for comfort and concealability, since the knife and sheath fit neatly under the chest/pecs, and the handle does not protrude down very far. The only issues I had with it were that the rubber could grab onto clothing easily, and the T shape of the handle could get snagged and possibly get yanked out of the sheath. It is handy for small admin tasks and CS has an old video demonstrating its use. Good knife over all, but I enjoyed seeing the different options you brought to the table.
