Oh Lara: I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you making my 'dogbone' pillow. I was in a serious car accident many years ago that left me with a deformed spine and herniated disc disease in my neck area. I have tried so many pillows for sleeping but none eased the aching pain in my neck. I made one of these pillows about 30 years ago and have used one every night since. I make mine from flannel and use a knit fabric to make a stretchy pillowcase (with elastic in a casing on the ends) that comes off for washing. I have made many of these in different sizes and fabrics. Some of them go to the hospitals and for long term care homes for patients who have disabilities to take pressure off of rigid joints etc. Thanks for sharing the pattern for the "dogbone" pillow. I hope others will give them a try.

Wow! I have to make this after reading your post as I also had a serious car accident 30 years ago. Unfortunately as we get older these pains just get worse.

Thank you! I have a similar pillow but always wanted to make one. Glad you designed one similar to that because I love it! A little tip for anyone buying a big box of stuffing. Only cut one flap in half to open. So you only have 1/4 of the top open to pull out the stuffing & you can still close the flap. If you open it all, it is like an auto inflatable raft & the stuffing could all poof out! 😀 This pillow will be great for gifts! Thanks again for all your hard work making videos & patterns for us! You are appreciated!

My Grandma bought these bone pillows nearly 20 years ago at her local store. I still have hers. I’m glad I came across your channel because I wanted some guidance on how to make some for family and friends. It would also be a great project for patients undergoing chemotherapy. Thanks for the pattern!

@@latrinamcdonald5338 Dear Latrina, Thank you for your help. I am using an iPad and I don’t see drop box, but I went back to video and heard “Soiffer home”. Turns out it was “sew4home” and was able to go to that site andget the pattern. One more question. I don’t like the premium polyfill to stuff pillow. Do you know anything else that might be nicer stuffing mixture so it feels a little firmer and less squishy? Thanks again.

As a former designer for multiple Fairfield fashion shows I have to tell you this makes me feel old… 80 years? Oh my. But thanks for the pattern! I can see my grandchildren using it behind their heads as they play on their tablets or… Putting it on their chest or belly as they lay down and propping the tablet against it… Perhaps I need to make a couple! LOL!! I have saved your video so I can do that! Thanks again! 😘💋
