Hi Ms Nikki, I am so grateful for this video. I made one for my BF’s uncle as a get well gift. He was in the hospital for days after a fall and some other news. We let’s say the next day we came back to see him and all he did was talk about his pillow. And how wonderful he slept that night with it. So thank you. So very pleased with this patter!! Thank again for blessing us with this..

Oh how I love this! Thank you soooo very much. I am glad you were able to create something useful for a difficult situation - one that made him happy and talking about it! I wish him well. Keep making more for your family and friends now! : )

I hand stitched mine closed with a ladder stitch or an invisible stitch. Came out beautifully. Thx for tutorial.

I do as well. It wasn't worth the struggle for a machine stitch! :) I'm glad it worked out for you!

I made 5 of them. In one I miss my scrap material and the stuffing and it works out great. U don't know the scrap material in it and help with all that stuffing in it. Bring the shape a little more support to it. I will be making more every soon. Easy to make thank u so much.

Thank you so much for this tutorial! Someone gave me one of these neck pillows and it’s completely worn out and I had no idea how easy it is to make one. I’ll be making one for all my grand boys for Christmas and if I get started now and August I can get it done, thank you so so much. I’m going to play you along see so I can sew with you.

I’m very new at sewing. A friend gave me a sewing machine. We have bone neck pillows I bought at a craft show a few years ago but they are old now and I’ve been wanting to replace them. I’m so glad I found your video. You give really good instructions. Thank you!!
@SewnByNikki3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You are new to sewing but this is a project you can definitely tackle. Just use small stitches around the curves. It will help to ensure they don't pop open as you stuff and stuff polyfil. Now you can make some for yourself with patterns you prefer. Have fun with that sewing machine and welcome to the world of creativity.

Hello! This pillow is one of the first things I made while learning to sew. I am wanting to make a smaller version, 2-sided with elastic, for car head rests, but cannot find a template. Do you have any ideas?
@SewnByNikki8 ай бұрын
Hmmm. Have you considered doing rectangles the size of your headrests, adding tabs to each corner to tie? You can cut your fabric to 8x10" - that could be an option.

I know I was not dreaming last night when a video of you came on and showed you doing a back pack tutorial. You used black , red, and white fabric with stethoscopes on it. Now I can't find it anywhere , even when I type it in. I really want to make it, did you take it down?
@SewnByNikki2 ай бұрын
Hello. Sorry I am just seeing this. I did not take it down. You can click on the videos tab and search "backpacks" .... it is still there. They are fun to make!!!
@patbarnard5218 Жыл бұрын
Love this demo thank you could I ask if the tabs need to be a particular length and width
@SewnByNikki Жыл бұрын
Hello. They do not, no. I usually just cut from a scrap piece of fabric, the ends of the fabric that I cut the pattern from, and use that. You decide how long you want by folding over the fabric. I think an 8", folded to 4" is a good length.

Hi Nikki, I have been making these neckbones pillows now for all I don’t know for five years and it seems like I can only get one sold each sale due to nobody knows about them. What are you doing to promote the sales of them I love these things I swear by them I can’t say enough about them. I tried promoting them and people just don’t know about them or they’ve never seen them. Can you share with me your sales tactic on it?

Hello! Wow. Curious where you live.... are you in a city area? Suburbs? Are you where handmade sewn items are used/welcomed? They are very popular in my area. In other words, I don't live near a major city where people buy only franchise store brand. Therefore, many people are familiar with this item. Explain what it is when they are looking.... ask if they know what a lumbar region pillow is. Use that opportunity to, if needed, pull up information on Amazon (because a lot of people trust Amazon for some reason), or use another retailer.... show them the description. Explain that you'd suggest it for the neck, between legs for restless legs or for the back. For products that you want to draw attention to, print and frame a picture of the item with a description and price. People like information. Use eye catching fabrics or something relevant to the season; ex. plant fabric or travel prints. Hope that helps!

@SewnByNikki Жыл бұрын
I pack mine in a polymailer bag. I buy them in bulk online because they are waterproof. How much you charge depends on where you live. They range anywhere from $12-20. Research your area to determine.

I made these years ago and everyone loved them. Then my son brought his back for repair after a year or so. It was so flat. I apparently don’t know how to stuff it tight enough or there’s a different kind of fiberfill that springs back. If you know what I’m doing wrong please tell me! Also, where can I get another pattern. I have no idea what I did with it, but would like to make more. You did a great job explaining how to make it.
@ImaMes8882 жыл бұрын
There is a link in the description below the video that takes you to her website where she provides a printable pattern. When stuffing the pillow, you need to stuff quite a bit more than you think. Stop every once in a while and squeeze it all over until you can feel that the polyfill does not shift. Hope this helps.

What seam allowance are you sewing at if you don't mind me asking? And are there written instructions because I didn't see them with the pattern piece...I'm actually writing down what your doing as I watch you...I can't tell if your using a 1/4", 3/8", or a 1/2" seam allowance... Also just one more thing... One of your pillows looks a lot bigger than the other one, so is that a larger pattern or is it stuffed more? I like the size of it... Thank you!
@SewnByNikki2 жыл бұрын
The pillow I am sewing in the video is a different pattern. I mention I received the older one many years ago, around 9 years ago or so...... The seam I use is 1/4". It helps so when you are stuffing, the fabric will stretch a bit but not rip. If you used a smaller seam, your fabric would pop open when stuffed. You can put as much, or as little poly-fil as you'd like...... No written instructions. Sorry....
