Reporting on how it’s going with getting back up on my feet following posterior laminectomy with fusion (spinal surgery) surgery on my neck (levels c3-c7). Recorded live from my hospital bed on a whole lotta painkillers. :) I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis and myelopathy.
I'm a lot more with it in real life. As an aside from neck surgery, if I can help your small business earn more profits from your email list, let's chat!
Please see the rest of my playlist to learn my progress after cervical spine surgery.

I just had surgery, fusion C3 to T1. Thank God for pain meds is all I can say. The pain definitely got worse before it got better. 48 hours post surgery I couldn’t lift my head because of the pain. A couple of days later, no issues getting out of bed, using the toilet, putting on my socks etc. I still have a ways to go with the stiffness and related pain but so far so good. 🎉🎉🎉

Hi Diane. Thanks for sharing your post op experience. Im having a C3-C-7 laminectomy May 3rd at Cooper Hospital in Camden. Scheduled my pre op bloodwork and Covid test today. Started with minor numbness in my fingertips and has spread to my hands, arms and feet. Bought a pair of zippered hiking boots because it was taking 5 minutes or more to tie one shoe. Anyway, hope you’re doing well. John

Thank you for your videos! I find myself having to have posterior laminectomy on c3-c6 after having ACDF on c4-c7 four years ago. The stress of having a laminectomy hanging over my head all this time has terrified me but here I am. Your videos encourage me so thank you soooo much!!!

Thanks for video. My journey started with loss if control of both upper and lower limbs... Had been seeing medical professionals who called me an anxious hypochondriac making up stories about fictitious symptoms. Once the paralysis of the arms and legs occurred, I got a second opinion. Rushed through to neurosurgeon and had urgent cervical laminectomy surgery on c3 to C7. The paralysis took a long time to improve, but still have degraded control of upper and lower limbs. I was in post op care in a bad way for about 5 days. They then transferred me to in hospital rehabilitation for about 5 weeks. Learning to walk, use my arms and hands. Time was best healer. The neurosurgeon advised I had a serious blood flow issue around spinal cord and one day will have a fatal spinal cord stroke. Now 3 years after surgery, and had 4 serious and disturbing medical episodes and a mild stroke. Tests reveal I have tortuous carotid arteries, hypoplastasia of basilar and verterbral arteries. Am now closer to having this fatal spinal cord stroke. The last medical episode was so bad I wanted to die. I can smell death coming with the next medical episode. The constant cervical pain is debilitating. Am having seizures, tremors, migraines, arms and legs swinging around randomly, loss of hearing, tinnitus, vertigo, chest pains etc.... It is good to see that others are more fortunate.

I had C5-T1 on Monday. You look like you have had great results so that is encouraging. I came home on two days ago and I’ve already fallen twice yesterday so I’m a little terrified. It’s just such an intense ache deep in my shoulder and neck. I hope I have results like yours.

Thanks for sharing. Having this surgery next month, but up to C2, and possibly up to occiput. I have a previous anterior fusion and lumbar twice. I was most nervous when they told me that was that the posterior cervical fusion was the most painful procedure they have 😳

I'm sorry they said that to you - who knows it that's true. It's painful, but for me... it did the job. May it be that for you as well.

Not to scare you but it is very painful. Take whatever drugs they offer. I have a pretty high pain threshold and it hurt. I don’t wish to alarm you but it’s better to be honest and realistic about things.

Hello. I've watched your videos. Thank you for posting your journey. I am having surgery may 31,2023..c3-c7 laminectomy, fusion with cadaver bone graft. It is definitely scary to me, more so than my lower back last year. The neck just scares me really badly. Again, thank you for sharing Brandi

My surgery was Jun 8, 2023, posterior c5,6,7. Still home. I'm told I'm doing great, from others that have had it, posterior takes longer to heal they also said. It's been quite a journey. The varying stages of pain, the spasms are KILLER......I can't wait to be my new normal. Your videos helped, and the chair pillow and heating pad are extremely useful. All the best on your journey, Brandi!

Hi Diane, It's Brandi sorry it's taking me this long to respond. I honestly just came across this video in my email. I had looked for it a month after. for the life of me I could not find it. Anyways, that surgery recovery at beginning was definitely tense. Her I am now being checked over in month because of neck stiffness, arm pain, hand numbness fingers tingling at times. Rgt hand cramping along with finger feels locked can't bend without pain. I'm having blurred vision at times, dizzy feeling and a feeling like I could passout or lose balance when I close my eyes. With all that said i'm not saying this is from my neck surgery not saying it isn't from it. I'm just getting everything checked over. I did learn I have osteoarthritis in my left wrist and possibly carpal tunnel in right wrist. We shall see when I have my June appointment. I did have a mri done so we will go over that as well. How are you doing Diane? Are you doing well? I sure hope so 😊

@@lisamac3299 First day in hospital they doubled my pain meds! Oh i totally hear you on those spasms the are HORRIBLE! It will be a year come may 31 and I'm having some issues but we don't know if it is neck causing issues so we did mri my appointment is in June to find out. They are checking for carpal tunnel along with emg testing after aug 6. I also found out left wrist has osteoarthritis, ugh! 6 months after neck surgery i ended up having a heart attack landed me in hospital for 10 days and with widowmaker area is completely occluded. Just had stent on left side stented in February..(Diane I ment to tell you about that also) So Lisa how are you doing? I sure hope your doing great!

crap. I am allergic to most pain meds. I had a hernia operation and only used tylenol. It sounds like that will not work for this. Thanks for the heads up!

I am having this surgery, without the fusion though... Just a laminectomy at C3,4,5. I am 57 and commented on your other videos. I am trying to find out as much as I can about recovery etc. I am still pretty active with minimal/ intermitent symptoms, but I do have stenosis with myelopathy. What can I expect it terms of being able to return to all daily activities?

My surgery was scheduled for 2.5 hours but took 3.5 hours. Complications occurred and equipment needed for monitoring heart and lungs. Was told by radiology department that a staff member was called in urgently to bring fluroscopy device into live theatre. My body was shutting down. I tried to get more information from neurosurgeon, but he told me not to worry about anything. He would worry for me, because that is why I paid the big bucks to him. For me, I want detail but could not get it. Am good with bad news. Not good with no explanation.
