Thank you so so much for all of your videos ! I'm in a "wait and see" situation which means we're waiting to see if I get any more off balance or drop more things all the time. I am professional singer and I'm very concerned about the surgery they want to do going in the front. There's a danger with vocal chord nerves being damaged. So, if I go 😊with your type of entry to work on my neck I now know the right questions to ask and what to expect. Posting your full experience is a brave thing to do and you've helped me tremendously.

I was operated about one month ago and although I walk ever day at age 64 it is taking me a long time to regain my energy.

Well, glad you're on this side fo the surgery, Steve! it's such an energy suck but I guess our bodies just need more time to cope than we're willing to give them :) Hope your recovery continues to progress well!

walking is helping me before surgery. So I can imagine it would help afterwards. Thanks! I see so many posts about equipment that is needed, and I wonder...is it really? Doctor says no. What say you? I'm talking reachers, raised toilets, canes, walkers, butt wipers (lol!), bidets, etc. even types of clothing. I don't want to buy stuff I don't need because I am virtually poor. Your experience on what is helpful would be...well, helpful! I am alone, so this would be essential information!

Ha - good question. What each person "needs" is different I'm sure. My deal breakers would be - a zero gravity chair, unless you have a recliner that you can position at various angles; a grabber; and bendy straws for the first week or so. And ice packs, and then later, heating pad.

I am walking all over the house and going up and down multiple flights of stairs. You are right: it does help. Is 8 wks early in the recovery process in your opinion? Guess I am hoping that it is early days yet, and time will continue to improve things. Lots of snow and ice up here in BC, Canada so not outside to walk just yet

The timing is probably different for everyone - but glad you're trying! But yeah - best to stay away from the snow and ice during recovery :)
