Good show mate. I appreciate that you didn't poop out a 5-star just to have one. Range, failure chance, and effects just don't cut it for the costs (actual & opportunity). I don't think the community overrates the powers themselves, as they've been seen as middling to bad in my sphere. I do think the c'tan as units have been though.

@@Planet40K At the beginning of the edition, I was right there with ya. Then people learned to deal with/avoid him (usually very quickly). Haven't played with the Nephilim changes though. Maybe he's a better effectiveness-to-cost ratio nowadays.

I think it’s faction specific I played daemons yesterday and smacked them 92- 30 Can’t do that vs Aeldari or nids..

As the new trend seems to be towards characters having necrodermis like abilities where they can only lose a certain number of wounds per phase C'tan powers can be key to finishing them off in a single turn. Or just let the nightbringer eat them.

I'd personally give the sky of falling stars a 4 star on the void-dragon and a 3.5 on the others. The dragon is a vehicle killer so infantry tends to block him or get in the way. With falling stars he has a decent tool to assist him with his weakness.

Thunderbolt and sky are a cut above the others. Sky has solid odds to throw out 3d3 MW. No LoS, 24” range easily should be rated above the others. Thunderbolt also has that potential to reliably put MW on multiple units. Target a good unit, 50% of the units around it take a MW. It’s about cranking out MW with a low chance of failure. There are a lot of armies this especially strong vs..sisters, DG, orks, basically any army that runs a lot of models, or a lot of characters. Every wound off a character increases it’s vulnerability to being removed.

Strange analysis here in my humble opinion. From a tournament players perspective, I disagree with a lot of points in this video. Why did the sky of falling stars not get 5 stars? This needs no line of sight and it is super relaiable. It can win games on its own vs Soros, Orks, Harlequins, and other Necrons. Transdimensional Thunderbolt is the most reliable of all the power (except falling stars maybe). Antimatter Meteor does 2,3MWs per turn, is super random with only a 2/3 chance to even work and the enemy can block it with useless stuff. It is by far the weakest power. The Deceiver is the best of the named c'tan, because he is -1 to hit and you can redeploy 3 units with it. The void dragon is impossible to hide and the nightbringer has no defense and all the models he should counter cost less than 320pts . . . what is he good for then? His power is super random and therefore maybe even the weakest of them all.

I've found that the nightbringer is the easiest to hide and that's his defense. Or against psyker factions throwing him in strategic reserves is also solid. I think the nightbringer shines when brought with the deceiver because of this. But still I agree that he is probably weaker than most people think. I feel like the void dragon is probably the weakest of the named c'tan but that's only because he's meh against infantry lists so he's a meta call and not good on his own. Regardless the deceiver by far is the best because of all the shenanigans

100% agree, but planet 40k isn't competitive and is more fun than anything. If you look at it from a casual perspective, his opinions are solid. More competitive, probably go with a diff channel, or post like yours to show the more competitive side! Either way, good vid and really good comment. Sky of falling starts is nuts, times arrow is too in certain matchups (I destroyed custodes and DG with it in my last tournament)

Deceiver has cool tricks and defense boost HOWEVER he deals such abysmal damage compared to other two you are better with Transcendent. Nightbringer should be your back line countercharge threat, if he is standing perfectly hiden inside your key areas/deployment zone enemy simply can't go in there blindly with there's most powerful units, such as new Blocks of Chaos Terminators, Mortarion etc., Greater Daemons/Be'Lakor etc., Abbadon even Silent King or other C'tan, because even if he shoots your c'tan and charges him (he should be screened) he will still get hit back and then most likely AGAIN with few powers next round. Most of Nightbringer power is actually psychical damage to your enemy battle plan. Enemies will try to overanalyze and make big mistakes, especially if you have multiple different "smaller" mayor threats such as few Skorpheks units, even small ones, maybe some Wraiths, some character, say Command Barge with Voltaic Stuff or Void Reaper. If Nightbringer is able to blast with Sky of Falling Stars (while hiden) good targets, each turn, EVEN BETTER Even competitive lists can break if enemy simply doesn't have any idea how to counter such a position. All other C'tan, especially Deceiver with his low melee output JUST CAN'T DO THAT.

@@magearamil8626 flat 3 damage is way better then d6 damage. And having a 320pts model guard the backline hurts yourself more rather then the enemy. The nightbringer is really only scary to inexperienced opponents.

The Deciever is the best? He is terrible. You don't need a redeploy with a 6' free movement from custom dynasty. -1 to hit? Who cares. Almost everything rerolls some way. Just not getting shot at is always better. Taking a transcendent shard is 100% the way. Take 2 actually. Spend the CP to give the other Sky as well. Hide them behind some terrain and pop out as needed. The only thing that sucks is if your opponent also has non-target powers or out of Los shooting of some kind

Personally I would bump time's arrow up too a 4 star. it has become one of my favorites with coming in clutch and just removing 4 and 5 wound models that were at full health.

I wish they allow the Time's arrow to choose yourself the enemy model. Erasing enemy sargents could be one of the best uses of this power, considering how many wounds the actual characters have nowadays.

I'd like to see what you would build with these parameters. a 2000 point army that has the full super heavy detatchment. must include the seraptek heavy construct. full breakdown of all the units the dynasty the relics and your thought process.

Times arrow is a bad antimatter metiorite against anything with 3 wounds because it has the sam chance of failing but 6 inches less range, and antimatter metior is just more reliable.

I’ve only played against my buddy a few times with his C’tan or three on the board. They seem to not go off often enough to be too dangerous. Also, I have 5up mortal invuls on my Black Templars so that really helps when they do.

They really haven't been that big of a deal. I know that there's a bias towards remembering the bad things, but watching powers fail regularly hurts at their points cost. Not to mention how a handful of MWs is unlikely to change much when they do go off. Then the out of shoot/melee phase damaging that can occur in nearly every faction, making single turn kills easily doable.

Too bad, that only the Void Dragon is good looking in my opinion. The others look very outdated and a bit ugly for a massive and expensive (points) unit. For the Deciver and the Nightbringer i thought about buying proxi/recasts, because they just look better.

Compare to what you are doing now compared to how to fight Space Wolves Armies with a bunch of already dead skeletons. You were great. You were the top mind on youtube about necrons, and every other damned unit you covered. If you no longer care then quit, but recognize how great you used to be.
