Necron Changes Pushed Me To One Page Rules

Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! Today, I'm sharing a major update regarding my Necron army and why I've decided to switch to playing One Page Rules.
Recently, Games Workshop announced that some of the most iconic and awesome-looking Necron models are being moved to Legends. This means they will no longer be playable in competitive Warhammer 40k games. As a Necron player, this change is incredibly disappointing, as it limits the units I can field in tournaments and other competitive settings.
Instead of letting my beloved Necron models gather dust, I've decided to dive into One Page Rules. For those who aren't familiar, One Page Rules offers a streamlined and flexible alternative to Warhammer 40k. It allows me to continue using all my Necron models, including those being moved to Legends, in fun and competitive games.
In this video, I'll discuss the specific Necron models affected by the Legends update, share my thoughts on the impact of these changes, and give an overview of One Page Rules.

I've been playing only combat patrol, and opr. Gw releases stuff unfinished, codexes are outdated from day 1, they only change pts of meta models, so they can sell other models.

Yea that kind of crap would make me abandon the game entirely. Them deliberately mucking with the rules explicitly to make you buy things to chase a meta? Yea no, screw GW, their game is trash, has been for a long time.

I ended up switching to OPR because 40K as a game just isn’t for me. I have only ever made it to round 3 once and after 5 or so hours I am well past being bored, tired, and ready to go home.

It's definitely sad to see. The massive swathe of space marine units that went legends at the start of this edition was crushing for me, especially when so many of the units had just received lovely plastic kits. I am very nervous about the prospect of my guard collection which will no doubt have a bunch more units moved to legends now that they have plastic heresy versions. Both my space marine and astra militarum armies have dozens of forge world models so it's pretty frustrating to consistently lose options.

My Orks have moved over to OPR with their grot tanks. I'm not buying 900 points of orks just to get screwed again.

@@ThereIsOnlyWar40k I know what you mean, but I gave up my Tyranid army to play Dark Mechanicus and haven't regretted a thing. Every game is incredible and engrossing, simple and elegant, plus fast paced. My army is also well customised thanks to having a 3d printer. Highly recommended!

Legends units are still playable, that's why they are in Legends. The only difference is that they aren't in GW organised tournaments. GW organised tournaments don't use One Page Rules...

@@ThereIsOnlyWar40k That's fine mate. Just seems an odd reaction when the only way it affects you is if you play in tournaments. But whatever works for you.
