I absolutely love the model's "massive beetle" suggestion to its appearance, and both guns look nice, and I am really hoping regular Destroyers get an update soon too. Probably not as 'chonky' looking as the heavy destroyers, but Destroyers inherently look a little funny with the "torso attached to a small vehicle" appearance, so it was neat to see the new Heavy really pull it off well.

I'll be honest - I'll be running mine with 3 gauss, lord and arisen tyrant. The mobility of the hyperphase is what sells these boys. You get to keep hunt down the opposition heavies, all the while you get to them from trouble. And to move all 3 I need them in one unit. If they are in one unit I might as well shell out the extra 105pt for a lord, re-orb and access to re-roll hits. That way they remain hyper mobile, there's not hiding from them and they remain very reliable.

I did this the other day and it was glorious. Crit on 5s, rerolling hits, rerolling 1s to wound. The lord gives them full rerolls to hit and wound if the target is below half strength. So so good

@@carlblake-morris1993 what you can also do if you want is bring two units the same. First one has the enhancement. Bring them both on and if the first one fails to kill something outright, the second unit can still get full rerolls from its lord as long as the first unit took it below half strength. If the first unit does kill the thing, second unit fires at the next thing instead. It's a big commitment but when you really want to guarantee breaking a hard target it can work nicely

Love them. Frequently run 2 full units of these beasts (one full unit of each gun option), and they have been the bane of many an upstart stepping on our lawn.

Great video as usual! :) Strangely, i have been sorely disappointed by Gauss Destructors lately, and i dont feel like bringing them anymore. The absence of innate re-rolls is... really hurting. When you think about it, for a unit of 3, you got only 4 possible outcomes in terms of damage: 0 - 6 - 12 - 18. The most frequent outcome is actually 6, and 0 - 12 are pretty much equivalent after that. It's weirdly bad :| But im a sucker for the Disintegrators :D

I like to use them with the king. Hitting on 2+ then reroll the the missed shots. Keep a reanimator near by sit back and have fun

Perfect timing video. Me and some friends been working on our armies. I haven’t played the game at all but I’ve been watching videos as I build and paint. I’m at the point if I wanna magnetize the guns on the heavy destroyer or just pick one and stick with it. We starting with 1k points but eventually will try 2k if we get more into the hobby. I could always use some extra necron bits. I’m eventually gonna make some crazy conversion kit for display

You dont even have to magnetize... the instructions tell you to glue the main arm inside, held by two pins in the weapon. Just trim these pins and glue all arms to the body but NOT to the gun. You can easily stick the arms into eitherbgun and it'll hold :)

Yeah, they’ve got a maid to print locus destroyer Lord that’s just basically his arms and upper body for about $15 US. I went ahead and picked one up because it was the only original third edition model I didn’t have.

I love these guys so much! I always run the big one shot gun. When it hits it’s like “Oh yeah baby time to crumble this dreadnought” then you roll all misses. 💀🫡

Any thoughts on mixing loadouts? Right now i have 2x destructors, 1x exterminator and a lord put together. Most of the time i run them solo without the Lord but we can bunch them up with a lord if we want!

I dont think they are swingy at all. For the points. You can get ~3 or more for the price of other anti-tank platforms. So the amount of shots is pretty good for the price

Can you rate or hate the Doom and Night Scythe? I've played a game recently with them and would love to here your thoughts. My thoughts: they do what I want them to do on the table, but..... their defense is terrible for their points. I wish the Doom Scythe was 175pts.

Yeah you gotta have them. Even when i played Canoptek Court, i kinda missed them. For as much as i love the Doom Stalker model, 2 weren´t enough to take out chunky units. I think running 9 might be really good. I currently only have 6 but i might use spyders or something as proxys and try that out. I will try out Hypercrypt Legions in 2 days for the first time. And i gotta be honest, i m still not sure what the difference is between reserve and stratigic reserve. But i think the latter allows you to come in, 6 inch on the table edges. Definitely seems like a shooty detachement to me, since you lose out on most melee dmg.

@@Planet40K yes other in your comments are saying the lord allows rerolls to hit without an enhancement. He does give crits on 5's to the unit. Not rerolls.

Great unit sadly paywall blocked. If you want 3x3 of them it would cost over $450 canadian. Four hundred and fifty dollars for nine models. Absolutely atrocious, and one of the reasons forgeryworld and 3d printers have increased in popularity in wh40k.
