Who's listening in 2023?? This one never gets old! From beginning to end, this song still elevates my metal spirit into a frenzy. I had this song ringing in my head today so had to find this clip. What an awesome demonstration of Thin Lizzy. Lynott's voice delivering that distinct, in-depth power, and John Sykes just shredding the heck out of that Les Paul! It's a journey! They were underrated then, they are underrated today! Rock on brothers and sisters!

Lizzy were NEVER underrated. Always brilliant. Many bands that came after them cited them as a major influence ... Iron Maiden, Metallica, most of the NWOBHM bands, practically any band using twin guitar harmonies.

John Sykes brought a completely new dynamic that changed the whole direction the band were heading in. 'Thunder & Lightening' should have been the album that relaunched Lizzy to a whole new generation of metal crazy kids. Max Parkin I would totally agree with you on that Max. I was fortunate enough to see them in their prime i believe in 1977. I still listen to all the albums regularly, a very underated band and sadly missed Phil and Gary. RIP🎸

Anybody who played guitar in this band is great in my book Eric, Brian, Gary, John and that also includes Midge Ure and snowy white. They were all in my opinion part of the Lizzy sound and they should have been much bigger than they were . But people seem to forget Scot in all these " who was the best guitarist posts" Well Scot was there from almost day one and still doing it now in the name of Lizzy whether people like the line up or not . Best rock band ever for me and glad I saw them live . Thanks Phil Brian and all the great axe players!

In my book, i call this HEAVY STUFF that you can ROCK ON endlessly without getting fed up with Phil Lynott's voice. I've been listening to the bands music since 1984 up until today .... especially the album "BAD REPUTATION" Phil Lynott - Rock Legend and Rock Icon ! ! just by listening to him gives me a "COLD SWEAT" . . . . YEAH !

This must be the most inexplicably underrated - not to mention criminally unknown! - Thin Lizzy song of all time. “The Boys are Back in Town?” Please, this is the REAL SHIT! Keeeerist, that first John Sykes pinch harmonic - at 0:46 seconds - could stop a bull elephant at 500 yards... and that up-front, in-your-face Phil Lynott BASS SOUND... hair-raising stuff for the ages!
