I remember when Ifirst got to know Necrophagist and I thought I was a decent bass player. I tried to play the "Only ash remains" (and I recommend that song!!!) intro riff at like 40% speed and I couldn't fucking do it. They are so fucking sick. Legendary band.

The way I've always heard the name pronounced is neck-ro-fay-jist. Great reaction man, and if I may offer another suggestion for these guys, the song "Fermented Offal Discharge" features one of my favorite metal solos out there.

@billybob7285 жыл бұрын
serious though, mate. nobody has reacted to ignominious and pale or "symbiotic in theory" and those are 2 of necrophagist's most killer songs. guarantee the upvotes! you deserve every one
@MusicMyInspiration5 жыл бұрын
I love Ignominious and Pale mainly for two things: The guitar solo, and the drums. As for the latter, I think Hannes Grossmann really nailed it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHXVmIpsiNyHhrM

I've had the great pleasure of seeing Necrophagist live, twice! They were *SO* tight that it was mesmerizing. The vibe of the show totally changed once they got on. Everyone just stared at them in a sort of reverence. It was actually difficult to mosh because everyone just stood, slack-jawed, looking at them playing their instruments which such virtuosity. Luckily there were parts where we still managed to get down and mosh. My favorite Tech Death group of all time, and my introduction into the genre. Discovered them in 2006 and been a fan since. Too bad they've been on permanent hiatus since 2012 or so...

Alex Rudinger recently did a killer drum cover of this song if you'd care to see it played out! Oh and another amazing song by Necrophagist is "Only Ash Remains". Some seriously tasty riffs in that one 👌🏻

All the modern tech death bands you listen to wouldn't exist without Necrophagist. They basically invented this modern style of tech death. Also still waiting on Deathspell Omega - The Shrine of Mad Laughter kzbin.info/www/bejne/raHZmGqNltx-nNk

Epitaph is the album that pushed tech death into what it is today. You should read up on the lead song writer/ vocals Muhammad sucimez and how he taught himself guitar in secret because his parents forbid him from playing it. And disapproved him listening to metal.
