@@caspervanhout Why would you listen to aggressive music with clean vocals lol.
@metalswifty232 жыл бұрын
@@R3tr0v1ru5 Why not? Opeth are/were proof that you can make clean vocals work incredibly well with aggressive backing (cleans over the blast beats in The Lotus Eater a great example). Sure, Mikael growled as well, but not always, and many of their best heavy moments came whilst having him singing instead of growling. Let's also not forget that thrash metal exists, which is aggressive music, and many vocalists employ clean singing (Hetfield, Belladonna, Mustaine etc.). Regardless, that's not the point they were getting at, at all. They obviously didn't like harsh vocals at the time, but loved the musicianship on show in these insane tech and prog death bands. When you get a band like Necrophagist who came along, with guitarists like Muhammed and Christian, people will want to hear how good they are, so they'll tune out the vocals in order to focus on the guitar work.

Hey Geebz, if you liked the musicianship level in this one I suggest checking out Ad Nauseam - Imperative Imperceptible Impulse. From an engineering point of view it's very interesting given that they built most of their own instruments and recording equipment, and also self-produced their albums with an extreme effort to find a way to record the most natural, dynamic, and tridimensional sound possible. The music represents a merging of different styles, the most prominent ones being extreme death/black metal, avantgarde, jazz, post-core, doom/sludge and ambient. The composition process has been heavily influenced by 20th century classical composers like Stravinsky, Šostakóvič, Xenakis, Scelsi, Penderecki, and Ligeti to name a few.

Hey Geebz! This one’s a banger! It’s off their 2004 album ’Epitaph’ and, unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything from the band since. I’m pretty sure the main guitarist and songwriter (Muhammed Suiçmez) you were admiring is no longer working on music and is now an engineer at BMW. Guy must have a huge brain, haha. Keep it up, brother 🤙🏼

@ReinhardtBII3 жыл бұрын
@@ISH_BNH Absit Omen is one of my favorites, no doubt, but I recommend The Smoke of Many Fires because of the complexity of composition. All the changes, plus the stuff that gives Geebz the chicken skin like string squeak and such, is much more prevalent in Smoke than it is in most of the rest of Be'lakor's catalog

Gorod - Transcendence EP It's short but has a 15 minute song you'd dig. There are also two acoustic tracks. I would highly recommend the title track or "Blackout: Renewed Souls" because it's technical death metal acoustic experience.

Necrophagist's last album was a musical mic drop, they road off into the black sun, never to return. And they needn't. When someone can reach such heights of perfection, what more is left to prove? We are all blessed to even been alive at the time when these gods graced us with their expression.

This album is still ahead of it’s time. The death metal scene is still trying to catch up. One thing constantly missed is the song writing and compositions. Glad to hear it talked about here because that’s what has always set this apart.

Decomposer just got given a whole new meaning! This band is phenomenal and as others have stated Muhammed was front man and plays one of the two guitar parts live (as well as being the sole writer in the band). If you did ever look at their lyrics, they are seemingly random, quite poetic in the way they are phrased. It is such a shame he decided to go on permanent hiatus, they had just released a live version of a new song then disappeared! Live the two guitarists take turns in the solo sections - they alternate between soloist and rhythm (quite flawlessly too). I am fortunate I got to see them live once, and they were almost studio level tight. Absolute insanity.

*PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE* react to Cynic! I noticed you reacted to a few Plini songs (which I haven't watched yet, literally subscribed a few minutes ago), but if you liked Plini at all you will LOVE Cynic. I suggest starting out with the first track off their 1991 debut release called Focus. They were so ahead of their time that it wasn't until friends, fans and bands had to beg and convince Paul Masvidal that it was time to reunite the band after Focus had been remastered and rereleased in 2004 (around 15 years after it first came out) and that people were dying to see Cynic play live. I caught them on their reunion tour where they played the entire album front-to-back and it honestly hit me on a spiritual level, like I legit couldn't believe what I was seeing. Their second album Traced In Air was such a perfect follow-up after the success of their reunion tour, so if you wanted a song to react from that I suggest Evolutionary Sleeper. Unfortunately the drummer Sean passed last year and I hope his spirit can live on by introducing them to people who haven't heard them before.

Finally, some proper tech death metal! If you want something even more extreme(that's actually played by humans and not just studio magic) look into the band Origin. The song 'Saligia' is one of my favorites.
