Something that was in the air is that the M3 GTR IS the racing car, not the road legal one. It's good to have a look at the Most Wanted Black Edition, present in the PS2 and I dunno where else. It has a bit more cars, more events and a race that runs around the entire map. I've spent countless hours racing on that track, setting records and using every single car available in the game.

One of the best NFS from the early 2000's. Me and my roommates in college would go back and forth on this after basketball. Good times

This game almost has it all. A story and an antagonist which gives you motivation to claim your BMW back, the very industrial/graffiti theme in the menus and the map with a diverse car selection. For me I would’ve liked some more over the top customisation options from UG2. imagine how great this game would look like with the day and night cycle tho...

I think the theme and the story of the game go together really well. In Underground 2, a lot of the customization was a bit excessive and it wasn't need in this one as there was not rating system used to progress through the game. Having something like was one of things that I didn't like about Underground 2. If you consider the fact that it was developed in under a year for an unfamiliar console then a day and night cycle was probably not possible. All of the open world racing games that had day and night cycles were released near the end of the Xbox 360's life cycle such as Forza Horizon and Test Drive Unlimited 2.

@Selim Mašić it’s definitely not the best map but it really fits the atmosphere of most wanted

Most Wanted was when the Need for Speed series reached the peak of its popularity; the game not only received positive reviews but sold 16 million copies, which makes it the best-selling entry in the series to date. The game’s BMW M3 GTR would also become an icon in the car world, with it making multiple appearances in future Need for Speed games and having various real-life replicas. What’s more interesting to me is that this game would go on to form the basis for two more future entries, those being Carbon and Undercover, meaning these three games can be considered an unofficial trilogy because they have similar gameplay and were all developed by EA Black Box. Carbon would serve as a direct sequel to Most Wanted and introduced new features such as a crew system and race modes, a more streamlined progression system, and expanded customization, while Undercover combined elements of both games with the largest open world the series had seen up to that point and a new story which had you play as an undercover cop, taking jobs from both the police and criminals.

I think Most Wanted is the best Need For Speed that I've played and it has made think that maybe the other games in the series aren't as bad as I originally thought and I can't wait to review Carbon. Undercover not so much though.

@Selim Mašić To be honest, I would've appreciated a much darker NFS story. Kinda like with The Crew 2014.

@Selim Mašić Oh yeah, I loved Parallel Lines. I feel like it's very underrated, like a lot of open world crime games of the 2000's.

I think I had a bit of background noise for this one which is why the background music is a little bit higher than usual.

NfS Porsche 2000 - NfS Carbon era is the best era of NfS serie for me.

For me I think Underground to Most Wanted is the best era. Possibly to Carbon, but I don't remember that to much.

overall agree, but I have to add that my favourite ones are Shift games, but they are hardly nfs games, and I think of them as part of Project Cars Franchise :p

@@goralAdrian you know it's basicly a simcade, for me even more leaning towards sim. But you have to play it with controller at least, without analog sterring and brake/throttle it's painful

Personaly I can't stand whole rubberbanding thing here. It's so random and for me it takes away almost whole pleasure from playing it. But i have og xbox version, maybe it was a little bit different in that regard. Also i'm amazed how good xbox360's version look compared to all other ports, including pc.
@MontegoReviews

I think the rubberbanding is fine for the most part, but the game takes it too far when an opponent spins and then all of a sudden is right behind you again. I'm also amazed at how good the Xbox 360 version looks compared to the other ports of the game.

I stopped with the whole rating system because it was getting repetitive rating games the same and they way that I write the conclusion now gives the viewers information in a better way and it makes it easier to end the review.

For me Personal, MW2005 is an highly overrated game. It was an half baked Underground x Hot Pursuit 2 The world map was ugly, the steering was weird and heavy + it was a fucking unfair game. Fun Fact: Only one M3 GTR Streetversion exist. Btw I am in love with ProStreet that is my personal favorite of the NFS Series (and I played it 10 years after the release)
@mattc2306
@mattc2306 3 жыл бұрын
I personally feel the opposite. Prostreet is my least favorite in the franchise, mostly because of the approach they took. It felt like another "car sport" game, and that isn't really what draws me to Need For Speed. For me, I like it when driving games feel less like a sport and more like an open experience, which is why I never liked Forza Motorsport but loved Forza Horizon. Of course, this is mostly a suggestive take.
@MontegoReviews
@MontegoReviews 3 жыл бұрын
I use to think that ProStreet was the best one, but as I've started playing the older street racing Need For Speeds I found that they weren't as bad as I originally thought and I can see why people like they so much.
@mattc2306
@mattc2306 3 жыл бұрын
I think it all goes down to preference. I can see the appeal of simulation racers like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport, even the simcade NFS offshoots like Prostreet and Shift have their bright spots, however I still have more enjoyment towards the open world arcade approach, that's why I loved games like Burnout Paradise, NFS: Underground 2, the Midnight Club titles, Test Drive Unlimited, the Forza Horizon series, and several others.
