If you watched my Forza video, you might remember me mentioning my favorite racing game growing up was Need for Speed Most Wanted on the PS2. It was great, but when I was rewatching the cinematics to get a clip... I could not stop laughing..

Some random trivia about these scenes: Yes they tried to make them look like video game characters, going as far as dipping the costumes in glue, so the wrinkles look bigger and "fake". Dean McKenzie (Sgt. Cross), looked pissed after the "EVERYONE" because he probably was..this was like the 20th take and the director pushed him further and further to get the perfekt one till we got this legendary cut. Dean still doesnt like the take to this day. Simone Baily (Cross' sidekick) wanted to fully embrace the sexy cop stereotype to an almost pornographic level from the start, even going to the auditions in a slutty cop halloween costume (i think, i might've misremembered it). The dude playing our character (only seen from the back) is called Paul Walker. Not THE Paul Walker, just A Paul Walker. Mia is played by Josie Maran, a fashion model which, yes, also posed in nude a couple of times (for all you horny fucks, shame on you) The art director of the game (habib zargapour) is an accomplished hollywood director now and is currently making a film with razor (derek hamilton) as the protagonist (i think) and dean has a role in it as well (i think) it's called "squadron" and its about planes in ww2, look it up! The writer took part as a passenger in an illegal street race in NYC while looking for inspiration and a story. They all had a fucking blast acting in these scenes and all want to reunite eventually. If you are at all interested, check out Simone Baily's yt-channel, where she does podcast-style interviews with basically all of the cast and goes in reeeeeal depth about the process and the fun they had while shooting MW, there is tons of stuff to find out and the way they still go on about it 1.5 decades later shows how much care and passion went into it even though the endresult is as cheesy as a cave in switzerland.

With games he's also worked on Sunset Overdrive and Ryse: Son Of Rome as Art director.

That's gotta be awkward to be named Paul Walker and be associated with something racing related. I always thought that model looked like Andrew Garfield from behind. And as for the actors, I wonder who the other Blacklist racers are. I mean we know who Razor, Ronnie, Bull and Izzy are, but the identities of everybody else are still a mystery

The main thing about NFSMW05 cutscenes isn't that they are bad or good, it's the amount of personality from each character you see, the cast, even if some times it doesn't sound perfect, it sounds "real" to the world of the game and they keep that consistency through out the entire game, there's clearly a lot of passion from the actors and the devs in the cutscenes and it just shows every time. Also, yes a lot of the actors put improvised actions into the recordings.

Finally somebody agrees that Ronnie is the best video game character of all time. I thought I was the only one who absolutely adored everything about him, the way he acts, every single facial expression he makes... Oh man, every single scene he's in is oozing with personality. To say the actor had a ton of fun in this role would be an understatement, and that alone, is a sign of a great character (Because if you don't enjoy the role you are as, I don't think it will be as sincerely good or at least as comedy gold as it is here).

@@xehayukimura7409 Blame EA. I liked 2015 enough to continue playing past the story (despite the online being not too great), skipped Payback, then bought Heat when I saw it was probably the most holistic NFS to date (tuner culture, cat-and-mouse cop chases emboldened by the day/night racing mechanic, and a story that didn’t take itself so seriously), but having one underwhelming content update, then one last one for crossplay functionality before EA shuttered Ghost Games was insulting as fuck and really depressing. I think Ghost was finally hitting their stride and had the right blueprint with Heat.

Ah a fellow man of taste I see. Most Wanted is still one of my top 2 racing games (the other being Burnout Revenge). While the cutscenes are super goofy, there is something still so entertaining about them and it's something the NFS franchise has never really been able to recapture. Most Wanted had probably the best cop chase system in the franchise for me, the way you track your rap sheet and earn rep was so satisfying.

"So bad that it's good" is an art-form. It's like walking a tightrope where you have to carefully maintain balance or risk failing. You go too far into cheese and it doesn't work anymore because then it's just a parody / comedy, but if you don't go far enough and play it safe then it also doesn't work. I think the whole concept still has unexplored potential in storytelling and that it will take genuine talent to polish this particular diamond and maybe turn it into a genre in and of itself.

My favorite NFS of all times. Haven't played it over 15 years, and I can still pretty remember Jesse's entire dialogue from the Disclaimer/intro. If this game ever gets a full on, dedicated, AAA remake treatment, I can die a happy boi. edit: 5:40 to 'answer' your question, I think remember It was Raycevick's MW video, the actor who played Ronnie did an interview back in day and spoke about trying to 'emulate' the mannerism of the protagonist of one of The Offsprings' music videos, I think it was. Edit 2: 11:55 Remember, she dropped you off at the car dealership. You had to drive yourself to the Safe House.

This was my absolute favorite Need for Speed game too. I think it was extremely over acted because like over acting and over simplifying the message is because it’s easier for a younger audience to understand what’s going on story wise. And who the hell didn’t have a crush on Mia in this game.

To me it was the best NFS of all time. Never again did they hit the same heights in design and comedy. Literally genius. I played this every day of 2005-6.

this FALL, two titans of entertainment will clash. The world will rumble & quake, as Haptic feedback from the punches echo into your very souls. There can only be one. One man to stand for the 90s gen & fight the tards of tik tok & dumb kids who support crappy games like cod & microtransactions.. or skins... ewww. The Nakester VS the Sathsters. The jakester VS the jackster Rated R for intense sexuality & gore. Brought to you by lucky strikes cigarettes!!! #1 recommended brand from US doctors.

06:53 NFS MW canonically takes place in Carcosa, the damned city of the eldritch horror Hastur (The King in Yellow). Which explains the lack of physics, a city with infinite cops, the piss filter over everything, the perpetual daylight and the magical self refilling nitrous oxide bottles...
