Timing belt tensioner?? The one with a piston?
@zachbuchholz38103 жыл бұрын
Yeah the one with the tensioner and a big heads up if you got a dayco timing kit I can garentee that the tension with the piston it shot even if it only has 200 miles because I have went through 4 tensioner from dayco and all 4 only lasted maybe 500 miles before they where doing the same thing so I switched to a gates timing belt kit and have not had a single issue since

@@zachbuchholz3810 I put back on the old original timing belt and tensioner. The ones I used that was included in the timing belt kit seemed to be jumping teeth off the center crank pulley. I’ll recheck that original belt tensioner though it has 107k already on it.

And also check all the timing sprockets because the gear looking one can be making this noise as well but your issue with the sound is coming from timing components I promise I have seen it and 50 subaru engine I have fixed

My timing sprockets should be tdc. I don’t think the car would run if it was off right?

No I'm saying check it to make sure that it don't wobble because the gear shaped tensioner is known for failing on them the ball bearings fall out of them but check you tensioner with the piston to make sure that its giving good tension because they are also known for failing and they will give slack on the timing belt and cause the tensioner to move and slap off the block and make it sound like rod knock
