I think Aizen did visit Hueco Mundo before the reveal of his betrayal. Nel was in Espada under him, and some time must have passed since she was backstabbed by Nnoitra. And I was wondering, same as you, whether Barragan's final desperate attack failed due to his disintegrating or it was deflected by Aizen.

It never will get explained in the main story but Barragan was one of the oldest Hollows ever, he is even older then Yamamoto. Like the 13 squads did not exist yet when Barragan was king of Hueco Mundo, he got done in a little bit dirty with his h4x power, theoretically it should corrode even Aizen's Illusion the same way how Yamamoto can burn it away.

To answer your question about Barragan's Axe breaking before it hit Aizen, it was because Barrgan's Respira ate away at the King too much that the weapon broke apart before it hit Aizen. Aizen didn't do anything, he just looked and then looked away without concern.

They really did barragan dirty. With his power he couldve easily taken down almost everyone. I really wanted to see Barragan vs Yamamoto. Instead half of the fight is him chasing omaeda bruh. He never used his full power, or the power to its full extend. He couldve easily slowed down people or for once use a sonido??? + it makes 0 sense why his power is always progressing so slow on targets, fkin buildings are gone from his power instantly?!
