Fun fact: Tanya's recruitment poster resembles in wording the one Shackleton allegedly ran in the newspaper to recruit for his Endurance Trans-Antarctic expedition. That one reads: "Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful. Honour and recognition in event of success." That was widely considered a great advertisement, so it's no surprise that Tanya got so many responses.

I own them all my guy, I know what happens happens, I just don't like how the series ends. I wish she was properly immortalized into history, it also doesn't really make sense to me how they covered up anything she did, it's not like it was subtle.

A point of clarification, Tanya’s country, the Empire, isn’t the aggressor. They were attacked by other countries that border their own. They are just defending themselves from invaders.

I think in the LN she had to check her rifle at the reception desk when she goes to the library along with her computation jewel, but she has two jewels so she only checked one. Tanya as a HR corporate manager gets outplayed by the military strategist Zettour (with a paper file nudge by Being X).

@@easyBob100 Assuming it's this Austrian Painter, the quote would have been translated from Austrian, into Japanese Grammar, and then back into English grammar, so the English subtitle quote is most likely not verbatim, and neither the sub nor dub variation is likely the right language either. If it is a real quote, I have no clue, just saying.

One should note that the Salary Man that became Tanya was something of an academic. As a hobby, they enjoyed academic and intellectual debate. Unfortunately, Tanya forgets her audience when she does this, and thought experiments get implemented. This happens several times throughout the series.

If i remember correctly in their interior dialog they actually giving her a chance at a safe position because every branch wants her from logistics to battle planning but she made her self think she needed the dangerous on due to its importance and how it was presented also I think after she left they start talking about how they feel bad about sending a kid to the front but respect her patriotism for taking up such a dangerous job at such a young age also pls correct me if I'm wrong don't want to be giving out wrong info

Its always amazing how she THINKS she is forces into things Meanwhile the other side give her options and thinks she is so pro-empire and the perfect soldier she would do what she has to regardless. Like when she gets the stand down order at the end and everone is like "there are so many things she can do to claim she never did get the order"

7:29 I love this scene in manga much better. In manga, the term "human resources" was not known in this world. Rerugen was so shocked that someone referred to human lives as a "resource", just numbers. It shows how much different they think to Tanya.

I also got confused at first but just want to clarify on how devious Tanya was and why she mentioned about exploiting mentally defenseless people. Uger was at the 12th place in their school which is why he is in the 12 knights while Tanya is at 13th place. She persuaded him to drop off for her to get in the 12 knights. That's also how she got "von" as a title afterwards.

The ironic thing is, that screwing Uger out of his position was the best thing to ever happen for him and of immense benefit to the Empire as a whole. After dropping out of frontline service, he becomes part of the railway management and it turns out he's exceptionally talented in logistics and quite likes this kind of work to boot. So now he's got a job he really likes, is comparetively save at the homefront with little danger of leaving his darling daughter an orphan and the Empire got an immensely talented and motivated manager for their logistics. Everybody wins... even Tanya herself, since Uger never realizes that she was trying to screw him over, rather than helping him and thus is thankful and arranges to occasionally have little gifts "get lost" near her, things like some extra rations of chocolate, coffee, or a bit of alcohol for her subordinates. ^^ Sadly the anime skips this entirely. The manga has a really nice panel during their conversation, where Uger tries to imagine how Tanya would look in age-appropritate civilian clothing and the thought bubble has some really cute illustrations of her. :3

Random side note, but this is one of the rare exceptions to the rule where the subs are always better. The dub is just as good as the sub. Just for future reference, if you think it will make it easier for you to hear and learn all the names. Seriously, this anime is a gem.

So, fun but irrelevant LN story about that room that doesn't come up in the anime. There is a competition between the army and the navy to have the best food. The navy is the unanimous victor, and the army serves food to the generals that isn't very tasty. The generals hate the food, but they eat it anyways because of solidarity.
