The Original Series of Pokémon comes with a special, magical feeling that I can't explain. Something there are no words for. It doesn't matter how good a modern series is, in terms of plots, character development, or anything else. There's just some sort of magic that can't be recreated.

Exactly, I feel the same. Back at the time everyone was watching it, it created the atmosphere for an entire generation (the quotes, jokes, the music, the landscape, the morals). It's a timeless classic that is still kicking to this day.

i have a suggestion, for the thumbnails, consider using the older generation ash since you are starting from the very beginning. To put it in perspective, this feels like using post time skip asta as your thumbnail for episode 1. The reason why i'm suggesting this (and idk if others feel the same) but when i saw the latest generation ashes face on the thumbnail i felt way less inclined to click on the video cause i thought you were watching episode 1-3 of the latest season of pokemon, and not the older ones, which made me think you were skipping all the older seasons. And people who want to feel the nostalgia would also click the video more likely if they see the older version of ash. Just a suggesion :) if you think its not a big deal then ignore me, there just wont be any downsides to making that change and probably only upsides~ love your videos.

Originally, with the first generation there were only 151 Monsters, but the second Generation added 100 new Monsters, and the games that ushered it in, Pokemon Gold and Silver, were in development around the time this episode aired in Japan (April 1997). The unknown bird at the end of episode one is one of those new ones, meant to drum up hype for the new Monsters coming.

I'm one of those people who grew up watching the first season of Pokémon. I watched the Finnish dub, but the soundtrack is the same so this is still incredibly nostalgic. I really enjoyed this first video so I'm going to be checking out the next one as well. Keep it up!

I would disagree. The series ages really bad. If you are young yes its not too late but from a certain age its hard to watch, even with nostalgia. same goes for example for the OG Yu-Gi-Oh series

@@xSpyroTheDragon Yeah, your right. I came back to the Pokemon anime after about 10 years and... well... yeah. it wan't that good. The story line is rushed, and I mostly watched it out of nostalgia. In my opinion the first few arks of the Pokemon Adventures manga (Red/Blue-Ruby/Sapphire) is peak Pokemon, as it covers darker topics then the anime and (sometimes) the games. Pokemon kinda fell off after the Indigo League. (XYZ was pretty good though!) And even If you do enjoy the anime (And that's fine!) the anime already has so many episodes, It's unlikely you will ever get caught up.

I rewatched from the beginning last April cause that was the 26th anniversary and Ash’s journey is over, I’m talking all episodes, chronicles, OVAs and movies. There’s actually a list made that shows u the best order to watch it all and I did it. currently on Master Journeys where Iris comes back. By the way, it's not stated in the first episode, but the Pokémon Gary had and wouldn't show was Squirtle. Also yes, Dodrio have three different brains, and they do NOT get along with each other as they commonly fight over food, even though all three heads are linked to the same stomach. Also yes, certain Pokémon can be stronger than others. It's called Individual Values, or IVs. A Pokémon's nature also affects how it grows.

Yes, one pokemon can be stronger than another, even if they're the same pokemon. Each individual pokemon has different stats and personalities. Also, yes pokemon are this worlds equivalent of animals. While some pokemon are quite mystical, a lot of pokemon have real world equivalents. For example, caterpie is a caterpillar, meowth is a cat and pikachu is a mouse.
