The thing that I love about this iteration is that it shows that Brock is NOT the first gym leader, he's just the closest to Pallet Town and so we all considered him first. But anyone who isn't the main character might come across him as a later gym. Hence Brock asking "Got any badges? No? Cool, we gym 1 this, only use 2 pokes." Just neat to think of someone getting Brock last and what his full team might be. 😊

This used to be free on YT, to my knowledge, when it dropped it was only available via the official Pokemon channel. But it's great to see people geek out to this, I wish we got more. If you've never read the manga for Pokemon, I highly recommend it. The manga stories have much darker themes, and each of the MCs have a specialty as the story evolves (also the REAL Blue is a fun trainer to see develop). For context, "Gary" was supposed to be Green Oak, not Blue Oak, but Pokemon didn't think Green would sell as well as a Blue version, so localization and marketing changed things.
